Golfspy_CG2
17.4 for me. So I got the official end of (handicap) season email from the Maryland State Golf Association today with my final handicap of the year. I began the year at 19.8. So at least it went the right direction, not as low as I had hoped, (I had set a goal of 16) but it is trending in the right direction. I had some rounds late in the year that helped bring it down. Those scorers were probably helped by playing up a set of tees from where I normally do, because of conditions and the people I was playing with. Most of my rounds this year were played from tees in the 6100 to 6300 range. The last few were played on tees from 5700 to 5900. Probably with my lack of distance, those are the tees I should be playing the majority of the time, but many of the events/tournaments I play in are the former distance. So where did everyone else end up? Big money
I finished with a 14.1. Not bad considering first half of the season I had a dozen 90 plus score.Really helped I finished the season with 3 rounds in the 70's.Only bummer is 15 years ago I honestly was a low single handicap. But old man time took away tons of my distance and hand eye coordination. Not sure if I can ever get back the magic. Its a tough game when you have no idea where the ball will end up Keep it in the short stuff
Kor.A.Door
My season continues on, but current HCP is 4.5. Which is down about 1.5 since spring of 2016. Lefties are always in their Right Mind
downlowkey
I also received the "end of active season" correspondence with my most recent CGA index email. I'm stuck at 0.6 until the new season begins next year. Which is fine by me, because carrying a (+) this time of year means I'd have to play to it for at least a month next season. And giving strokes against 0.0 is no fun at all when my game has completely rusted over. ______S9-1 Pro D - Matrix Ozik XCON 6 S ______S9-1 Pro 15* - Matrix Ozik XCON 7 S ________3DX 17* - Matrix Ozik Altus Hybrid SG ______ICON Black 4-PW - KBS Tour V S __________588 RTG 49 RTX 52.10 56.12 - DG S400 ______Amazing Grace NYC Tour CS _______'19 TP5X (the preceding have all been gamer approved) "The most important shot in golf is the next one“ - Ben Hogan
GolfJunkie302
Today (maybe yesterday) is the officially the last day the guys in Washington are able to post scores. The final revision has me at a 6.7. My handicap goal was to get down to a 7.5, so I completed that one. Next year, my goal is to get down to a 5.5. matchplay66
It was a good year on the course this year for me. I started at a 2.0 and ended at a +1. I finally stopped missing a lot of those 4 footers and my last 4 rounds were 70,68,69,68. Now I just have to go all winter and remember what I did to improve in 4 months. ole gray
Mine is currently at 13.8 however it will start an upward trend soon. I play year round here in Georgia and the winter months always kick my arse. I'm thinking I'll start spring in the 16ish range. My handicap tracker is not for official tournaments. It's a free app where you post your scores. I haven't played in an official GHIN tournament in years. cnosil
Mine headed the wrong way this season. Started as a 6.1 and am now a 6.9. Short game continues to be a mess and I think the only reason my index is that low is my good scores haven't dropped off yet. Feel like I should be about a 10 based on the last couple of months. MDGolfHacker
I started at 16.8 this year (as I have been for the previous year as well). Was hoping to get into the 12's. Had some ok rounds, but mostly bleh rounds. Handicap isn't going to move too much as I don't play enough to really drop it, but the unofficial handicap is at 15.2 . I'll take it! Kenny B
I struggled all summer long with various parts of my game, but that changed about two months ago. STUDque
Yup. I need to get in on this action next year. I need to look closer at my game and I REALLY need to post more scores. I used to track my stats on this website through golf digest. I think it was called make me better but I'm not sure if they still have it. You'd track fairways, greens, putts, sand shots, and total scores then it would give you a handicap for each area and overall. That was great for me because it showed my weakness in glaring numbers. Sent from my SM-G950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app Make me better was a little better in the sense that you just make your marks as you go and dump the data into the website. It was simple with only a few basic categories. My whole thing with stat tracking apps is the amount of work you have to put into it. It's like you spend more time inputting data than actually playing golf.
