First Look: Bettinardi H2 SS Wedges

I was really interested to see Big B's new wedge offerings but I must confess these really don't do it for me.

Like the blog post said - these are not about performance but about bagging a Bettinardi.

They just look kind of ordinary and verging on cheap IMO. Part of the appeal of a  boutique wedge company is that you have something that is unique and different. 50% percent of my game is based on looking good! 

 

In contrast, I feel like Edel has a distinctive and unique look that the Bettinardi's do not.

Vokeys start at $150 retail, Betties are $165.

 

Mind you, you can find previous year models on Vokeys at a discount - unlikely with Bettinardi.

Guaranteed that as a leftie,

just like their putters,they won't offer any in left hand. So I won't waste my time with them if they aren't going to consider us south paws

I bought the 50*, it's like throwing darts at the pin.

Interesting paragraph above. How they are going outside the boundaries of how clubs are normally made (cast or forged) and thinking about milling a club from a block of steel. Correct,there will be a hell of a lot of scrap and hence money down the drain. Also, a solid block of steel in the shape of a wedge I would think should have considerably more weight to it.

 

But it's nice to see how experimentation and different thought processes (and smart engineers)

can lead to a brilliant new development
