Any Dudes wearing gals' shoes?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at Ecco Biom Hybrid 2 shoes.  For some reason, Ecco always combines black with some crap color like red or purple.  They will look OK if you're wearing red or purple, but not so great otherwise.

I noticed that the women's version has nice white or silver accents - likely to match everything.  But they kind of look like girl's shoes.  Any guy wear women's golf shoes and pull it off?

Women always get away with this kind of stuff, but I don't think it works so well the other way around.

I typically wear black or grey pants/shorts so it matches the colors I wear at least partially. I actually looked at them the laces are red, which bugs me, but the shoes are black with grey backs, like in your mens picture. The red laces don't make sense to me but they are just laces. I normally wear grey, black, blue and occasionally white so the black and grey work for me. I will change the laces out at some point but they do not bother me that much. I'm not a loud mouth clothing guy so what I wear they work with. I wear a grey and white hat most rounds so I try to tie the grey from the shoes into what I wear. I probably look like an idiot to those that are really into fashion.

The black/silver version of that shoe doesn't scream "women's shoe" to me. If you were wearing those on the course I wouldn't give them a second look. If you find a size that fits, and they are comfortable, wear em.

I agree they don't look like a woman's shoe.

I haven't ever tried it, but there's been many times I've liked the women's colorway better than the mens.  Not just shoes either, happens with clubs a lot too.

Are there any stores nearby where you could try on the womens version and see if you can find a size that fits?  I actually have no idea if they are shaped the same or not.

Hahaha, OG!- There was a great Beck's ad once where the guy tried to propose to the gal, and she said it wouldn't work because she was seven inches taller than him. He responds meekly: "I could wear ze heels."

Now if you had not told it I would have never guessed those were women's shoes. Naaw never have tried it because I do not think there are many women that wear my size 13 wide. But I have been known to wear a pink Bridgestone cap and I do rock Pink laces in my white FJs. Of course that is for cancer research and awareness

That there is a big woman.

Give her a mulligan if needed.

As others have said. Never tried it but if it fits.

Why not.

+1 to this. The only thing you'd wanna look out for its the structure may be different and it might hurt your feet. I think maybe they have higher arches and a slimmer fit than men.

Think how women's shirts fit only for shoes. Even though it's technically the right size, it's just not quite right.

I wear wide in men's shoes. Would need extra extra wide if I were to get women's.

Personally I like the look of the men's shoes pictured. But I also don't really match my clothing and just grab the first pair of shoes I see when I'm heading out the door

Not an issue for me- I am (as many men are) color-blind, or at least have a significant color weakness - those circles with dots inside them that have numbers like this one...

Well, I cant see many of them... so silver accents on your shoes, yea, go ahead...

They look funky to me - still sticking with the FJs.

Oh and I don't see the numbers - maybe that's why I stick with white or black golf shoes..

I have to do that every year as part of my DOT physical to drive a big truck.

BTW there are not any numbers in the circle you posted. I know I am not color blind because I just did an eye exam for new glasses back in September and they do the color blind test for folks with a Commercial Drivers License

Next steps to my road to improvement
      Current
Adding the Mizuno MMC FliHi 4 iron to the bag once it comes it to replace my hybrid. The hybrid has too significant of a draw bias, not terrible, but I also draw the ball naturally already, and will probably go in and out of the bag, but I'm looking for better shot shaping with the FliHi and have that 210 to 225 distance into the green and off of the tee. Working on my putting. I'm rolling the ball nicely now with a slightly open stance with my current putter. I have another putter that I can get the ball rolling online, but the pace is off. Future step is to actually get fit for a putter. Working on my natural tempo and swing speed for the driver to have more consistent drives. See below for more info. Next
Driver shaft optimization. Not looking for a new head yet. I like my 2017 M1 460. Interested in the journey of testing some shafts. Right now my shaft is determining what kind of shot I can do. Slower speed and tempo than my natural speed and tempo. This has lead to a great deal of inconsistency of trying to find the "magic speed and tempo" and I know that isn't the way to go. Swing speed training. I'll have multiple shafts at this point so I can game whatever is best fitting me as I go along. And I can always swing a little slower or club down to hit a fairway. Future
Get fitted for a putter > get fitted for a driver/shaft and woods from a high level, reputable company willing to discuss numbers and takes the time and right approach. Open to custom shafts and not just from the OEM cart like at a Golf Galaxy. I have only been fitted to a driver once, but didn't purchase as I did not like the experience, small selection of shafts, and I wasn't swinging my natural speed and tempo like I should have.
