Burrtuchi
Everyone knows the holidays are coming up soon. I am very new to golf, but my father has been playing my entire life. I wanted to get him something golf related to get him for X-mas. I was thinking range finder, but my mother advised against. He doesn't really need any new clubs. I wanted to get something that he will really enjoy. I was thinking something along the lines of paying a green fee for him and playing a round with him. He usually pays my green fees when we play together. We live in SE Louisiana. I would really appreciate some suggestions of golf courses in the general area that you all think would be worth it. He has a free pass to play TPC Louisiana every year so I would consider that course out of contention. If there are any other suggestions I am glad to hear them. Thank You for your future help! hckymeyer
Sorry I can't help with course suggestions, but I think you nailed it with the idea. At least with my parents they don't really need any “things†but paying for an experience you can enjoy together is perfect. GolfJunkie302
Anything personalized is pretty cool. Bag, towel, yardage book cover, balls, etc. A round at a nice course would also be a fantastic gift. JDHolmes
I'd agree with the perrsonaslized item as noted above. I'd also recommend a GPS watch, like Garmin s6 or the like. GPS on the wrist is good, keeps score too and is not intrusive. Also, as a father of adult children, I will tell you that anything thoughtful will be appreciated, regardless of item. Is there something he's peculiar about? For me it's shoes so it's very hard to find something appropriate. A special pair would be welcome, even if not exact,I could return and get the exact thing I wanted. tony@CIC
Agree with others on 'personalized' items. Also as a father of adult children (and I don't really need anything). It's the thought that matters most. So $$ spent less meaningful than something that constantly reminds him that it was your present to him. A certificate for greens fees would also be good provided it includes you. My son takes me to a specific course for Father's Day so every time I drive by it I remember the gift. chemclub
This isn't anything big (more of a stocking stuffer) but my dad really appreciated these shaft labels. I kind of got them as an after thought but he was over the moon. He also tends to leave clubs and has to track them down from groups playing behind us. https://www.mggolf.com/golf-club-labels/ Bag: Bennington Quiet Organizer 9-Lite (link) Cart: 3.5+ Driver: F9 speedback, Accra iWood Woods: Sonartec GS Tour 14*, Fujikura Six S DI: T-MB 2 iron, KBS Tour-V 120 X, Irons: PP-9003SN 4-GW, Nippon 1150GH Stiff Wedges: 1957 K-grind SW, LW, Nippon 1150GH Stiff Putter: EXO Indianapolis (link) Ball: MTB

HardcoreLooper
They actually don't have hilarious backstories like lots of good nicknames. My oldest daughter's name is Lucy. People immediately started calling her Lucy Goosey, shortened down to Goose. She's in high school now and detests being called Goose. My youngest is Allie. When she was a baby, she used to crawl around on her belly like a... wait for it... Allie-gator. She still loves her nickname and anything with an alligator on it.
