Hogan Wedges

Why not? [emoji1326]‍♂️

They react quite differently from the Genius 7's that are on the SCORs and the adila rogues that I have in my C200's. It's very hard for me to feel the club head. Also I wasn't fond of the amount of spin that I was generating which was probably a function of the shaft.

But to be fair I hit the ball like crap today so we will try again tomorrow and Friday. But my first thought is going to my repair guy and pulling the shaft s out of the SCORs and putting them in these if possible.

Tour Exotics 3 wood is in the bag because we are allowed 14 clubs.  It's a great club for pulling balls out of the water or from bushes - you never want to put your hand into anything in Florida unless you are absolutely certain that it's safe.  There are rare wind conditions when I might hit it off the tee on a few holes that I play.

Love my Scor wedges! So much I've got new back up heads for when they wear out. Ha. Those look nice!

$240 for 3 wedge set today, I might just have to do it. Lofts aren't my ideal combination but I can get them bent a degree or 2 if necessary.

This reminds me - does anyone have experience with what happens with a v-sole when the loft is bent. Is a degree no big deal like with most wedges or does it destroy the club's integrity?

Bit the bullet, 51,55,59 on their way. Shipping makes up 30% of the cost, but I don't think I could beat these at $A150 each.

You can take your time with the comparison Kev, I might add to it when mine arrive

First blush I am not a fan of the recoil.

I had the same thoughts about the Recoils when I tried the Hogan irons, and it may have been the factor why I didn't buy them when they first came out.

I think there was some discussion about bending the lofts on the SCORs a few years ago.  It may not have much effect with one degree, but I suspect any more would promote digging and impact ability to engage the secondary bounce.  Why would you want to change the loft?

Since they offer the wedges in 1* increments, you shouldn't need to bend clubs more than .5*, shouldn't be an issue.

I would be only bending up to 2 degrees stronger, for gapping reasons, more likely 1. Currently playing a 49 Scor gap wedge, which is a bit close in distance to my pitching wedge.

The deal didn't have 50,54,58 available, so I went with 51,55,59. I'll check gapping prior to any bending, and the new wedges might not be put in the bag for a while, as the Scors are in really good condition.

Weakening the loft should weaken the leading edge bounce by the same amount, and reduce the trailing bounce equally.

It is if you want to retain your SCORs with their current shaft. You can't purchase all SCOR Head/shaft combos anymore

Awesome Rev—hope you like them. They should be pretty much similar to your SCORs in theory. Aside from the shaft comments is there a noticeable difference?

They are slightly different in appearance - at least the 56 is - the Hogan is a bit boxier. Very similar feel around the green.

I will certainly do a write up with some pics in a few weeks. I saw a very use SCOR 52 on eBay - I may pick it up to pull the shaft.

I'd like to get a nice apples to apples comparison

As an updated edit I pulled the trigger on a SCOR 52 on eBay for 21.00 - this way I can have my guy pull the shaft and throw it into the Hogan 52.

Mine arrived yesterday, hopefully I'll get to hit a few balls on Sunday. Then they'll be put away until the Scors wear out.

Like the look of the black pearl shafts.

If the SCOR wedges were so good, why did they stop making them?

Company change when Terry tried to go big by joining up with Perry Ellis and rebranding to Hogan. The Hogan wedge heads are pretty much the same as the SCOR heads.

A bit like SM4,5,6, and so on.

My initial glance (too busy for more) they look very similar, perhaps a bit more weight higher up the head.

If they perform better than the Scors I'll be pretty excited.

Matt summed it up nicely -

There are differences for certain - I will have a post Christmas write up on my observations.
