MGS Outing In Myrtle Beach?

Recommended Posts

I've played both True Blue and Caledonia Golf and Fish Club.  I would play them again in a heartbeat, even though they are a little pricey.  Might make me try a little harder to make the trip!!!

Last time I was there, I got a great deal...played True Blue in the morning, had lunch and played Caledonia in the afternoon.....plus they have villas there too

I would be very interested, I also know the GM at True Blue & Caledonia and might be able to get us a deal.

I'd Definitly be up for those courses. Thougjt they migjt push the price up a bit too much.

But if you don't mind and want to check with him that'd be awesome. I'd be fine staying there as well.

Yep. That (price) would be my only concern with it being peak season there. But hwy it's worth TBT checking into it.

Bumping this for those who may have missed it the first time, or those who are still considering.

After talking to Ddryan about it yesterday, sounds like we have enough definite interest for a foursome, would love to get that up to at least two foursomes, lets see what we can do.

Truly wish I could but I'm planning on getting a new place & almost down to just utilities & car note. Did play Caledonia & True Blue a couple of years ago. Nice courses.

There are a ton of great courses in MB. Some didn't make the economic slowdown a few years ago and that's a shame but still a lot of good ones.

Is the “Pearl” still in good shape?

Interested, but stars would have to align to make it happen.

I was in Myrtle Beach about 4 years ago and played the Love Course at Barefoot. Really liked it.

Caledonia is my favorite Myrtle golf course.   On one occasion that my buds and I were playing it, there was a foursome of seasoned golfers sitting on the porch facing the 18th green.   It seems that they were making wagers regarding who would make the best approach shot, that is closest to the pin as each group appeared.   Apparently, one gentleman was not doing well, because his selected player did not make it over the water.   When the group left the green, he yelled to the player, "take some lessons".

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the trip.   I turn the big 7 0 on Monday, the 9th, so the wife is making plans for the weekend.

I really hope things work well for this outing, I'm sure a good time will be had by all.   Yes, I genuinely like to see pictures of my fellow spies and look forward to some.   Well, maybe except for the one you posted of yourself, Ddryan and me because now many of our fellow spies know that we are not just some pretty faces.

Wait a minute... I thought we were darn sharp looking gentlemen.... it sure wasn't our overpowering of the course (CG), putting prowess (DD) or bunker exiting prowess (TWh)... so it must have been our looks !?!?!?!?!

Got a tentative job offer this morning so if everything goes through I will start a new job in 2 months. With going through an academy for this job I doubt I will make it. Nothing says everything will go through but we shall see

It's a fire department job it's an upgrade from just being a paramedic. I'm not handsome though so I have to work extra hard lol.

CG, copied your original idea and emailed a buddy with whom I have played for a number of years- Not an MGS guy yet - doesn't do much with computers, but does do email- and have travelled with him to MB and Ocean City on a number of occasions.  He has many tricks up his sleeves when it comes to good pricing, and managing small competitive games (we used to travel as a 4some, so 8 might be a bit more of a challenge, but he is usually up for that sort of stuff...

Will let you know when I hear from him...

The local Fire Department just signed a new contract which was long overdue. Public opinion was overwhelmingly in favor of the FD. Old people know what's important, like good Paramedics and Fire Dept.

Good luck

Guys, I think I'm out on that Apr weekend. Have to be in Memphis for work the next week, and TBH, that's too much travel for a boy who travels for a living. Keep me in the loop, though. If I can assist w/ any MB info, I'll be following this thread.
