As I watch the Golf Channel and other golf related programming, more and more, I am seeing advertisements for training aids.   Unfortunately, they all seem to be or could be beneficial to me.   If I were to buy them all, I would look like a scene from Tin Cup.   I can sum my need in three words-distance, distance and distance.   So I am curious and permit me to ask my fellow Spies--what training aids have been the most helpful for you and why.

Having watched GC videos, you tube videos, bought training aids and lessons from a professional . I'd go with lessons hands down. In the long run it'll be cheaper and take less time as the instructor will focus specifically on what drill you need for distance.

Multiple ways to get more distance.  The first is finding the center of the face more often.  The problem is that you don't know why you aren't hitting the center of the face so you don't know the best aid to fix that problem.   Agree with the comment to get lessons and talk to a pro about what aids would help.  The second way to more distance is more speed so work on fitness and flexibility.   I have seen comments that people have had success with the overspeeed training like superspeed golf.

Great point about finding the center. I think the best training hack (used on the range) is foot deodorant spray on the face of the club. You'll quickly see where you're hitting the ball.

I use the SuperSpeed to get more speed. I also use the TeeClaw for alignment and swing path drills as well as a putting and chipping tool. I think the TeeClaw is the most versatile thing out and its $15. I use the Eyeline mirror also for putting. Also just started using the PowerUpWedge which helps me load into the right side and explode off it for more distance.

Agree with cnosil... Fitness and flexibility are the amongst best training "aids" you can do for yourself!

On top of that, to help strengthen and lengthen your full swing, and ..

..BUILD YOUR CORE MOVEMENT THAT WILL FACILITATE A BETTER TURN AND THUS A BETTER SWING SPEED..

.. I'd suggest look at either the Orange Whip or its 1/2 price almost-clone the SKLZ version.
