Hey guys - 

 

Have kind of a big announcement to make as we wrap up 2017 - I'd like you to join me in welcoming the new Forum Director, GolfSpy Meyer!!

 

Brian will be taking over as Forum Director starting January 1 - I'll be focusing my time on blogging and trying to keep my day job  :rolleyes:

 

Brian has been a Forum member for as long as I can remember, and he'll be taking over at an exciting time in MGS Forum history. We hit the 60,000 member mark this year, and we have our eyes firmly set on reaching 100,000 sooner rather than later - and we feel Brian is the right guy at the right time to lead that effort. 

 

I'll be helping Brian in the transition and in setting up the 2018 Forum Member Review schedule. 

 

In addition, we'll be looking to bring on two new Forum Moderators to assist in growing the forum, running Member Reviews and in keeping our conversations going. We have a truly unique group here at MyGolfSpy - you guys make this place special, and I've thoroughly enjoyed my time as your Co-Director. I'd also like to give special thanks GolfSpies Bones and Shawn for their efforts these past few years - those guys are the best and it's been a blast working with them. 

 

I'll be starting up a different thread with the job description/requirements for the Forum Moderator positions, and we hope to get the new team up and running as quickly as possible once we find the right guys to help us fulfill our vision statement:

 

MyGolfSpy's Community Forum aspires to continued growth while adhering to its core goal of being a place for serious, honest and fun discussions on both golf and life, and a place to go for honest product reviews - a true online “19th Hole,” where all are welcome and all golfers are treated with respect and friendship.

 

So with all that out of the way, let's give a big MGS Welcome for your new Forum Director - GolfSpy Meyer!!!!

Wow! What a true changing of the guard. As many of our members teach their own personal milestones, I can't wait to see this forum as a whole meet its own.

Congrats on the promotion!

I believe he has been a member of the staff. But i believe this is a move from moderator to Forum Director. No doubt taking on some more responsibility.

 

You're right about his helpfulness, i know he's been a great point if reference during some of the forum testing i've been part of.

As a newer member, I'm glad to find a place that isn't full of shitposts and trolls. Great job by the mods allowing people to post their thoughts without removing posts that don't follow the consensus, but also keeping it civil at the same time. Props to the members as well for not getting butthurt and out of line either.
