And when you go back to eating "normally" you'll put that weight right back on, plus, there's not much nutritional value in the rice.

That might be a good plan for a jockey but not for a fat bloke like me looking long term.

I have some great news concerning my wife and her health.   She has been following my progress at the gym and not going unnoticed is my overall physical and mental well being.  She told me last night that I had influenced her to renew her gym membership and hop on board.   We are in it to win it!  :D

Here is a cool tip for losing weight fast .

Only eat Rice Pilaf for a week and only drink water. You will easily lose 2-5 pounds with no effort

Appreciate the tip but I think all of us are looking for sustainable life transitions vs. quick fixes.

Eating right is only part of the plan.  As many here have stated there is work either at the gym or at home, and that is where the real results will be found.  Personally I want to build some muscle mass without trying to look like Arnold.  I found this cool app called 6 pack in 30 days.  There is some truth to the workout as my stomach muscles are not happy.  Not sure I can turn this spare or even flat tire into a six pack though.

Gained back weight I lost. But I'm thinking most isn't fat but more muscle.Been going to the gym more frequently than normal.Since I can't golf I'm doing my next favorite hobby.Im lifting slightly lighter but more reps.Working chest triceps arms legs calves shoulder and back extensively.Feeling great and looking good for my age

It's weird how I make progress daily at the gym.But made very little progress in golf.Even with hands on great instruction

Keep it in the short stuff

This golf season is a wash. Just can't understand how anyone can make some great gains in a gym. And I mean everyone can do the work out thing and make gains.Im having trouble grasping why I never made gain in golf. And this is with a great instructor looking over me.Why is the gym so different and more gratifying?

Keep it in the short stuff

You look great Rev

Thanks - 4 months of hard and well worth while work. They were busting my chops at the Club tonight. Not bad considering that “ they” were 3 20 something young ladies.

Made my night and yes “ they” got more than their obligatory 19 percent tip,

And I mean everyone can do the work out thing and make gains.Im having trouble grasping why I never made gain in golf. And this is with a great instructor looking over me.Why is the gym so different and more gratifying?

I missed this one before. A few things.

1. While I don't live up North I did for long enough to know that the season is still young.

2. Better fitness means your body has changed and so has your swing. It's easy enough to see from my before and after that there are moves I'm able to make in my swing that I couldn't at this time a year or even 6 months ago. But it takes sometime to reprogram that new (in my case old) swing back in. I've got it on the range but it doesn't always make it to the course. I'm hopeful for today if the rain stop.

So are you having good moments with your swing? If you are that's going to become your new normal.

3. Golf is way more mental than we give it credit for. At times, lots of times, what we chalk up to being the result of a poor swing was actually a mental error somewhere along the way. The wrong swing thoughts or internal business triggered the wrong swing sequence producing an anything but intended result.

Hang in there, better golf is coming.

Feeling like i needed a change in diet I just signed up for weight watchers. I needed a diet plan that allowed me more flexibility than my “cutting” diet. My overall day to day foods won't change much though which is nice. This just lets me have a few more “bad foods” from Time to time 😉

Weight watchers worked well for me ten years ago - I should have stuck with it.
