Way to go!!!  You got me by 9; down from 260, but there is no way I could ever lose another 40.

I weighed myself this morning for the first time since March 28th. On March 28th I weighed in at 235.20 LBS. Today I am at 225.60 LBS down just shy of 10LBS. The single biggest reason is officiating Lacrosse games, next would be water intake, and 3rd is getting in the gym a minimum of 3 times a week.

Thanks. It is literally sticking to weight watchers and golfing one to three times a week walking. I don’t lift or really monitor food just track the points and it works somehow. I have a major sweet tooth so I eat healthier so I can enjoy some dark chocolate daily. Good luck on the 40 left! You got this.

Early March I had ballooned to 233. Combination of the July auto accident, shoulder surgery and general laziness plus snacking on the wrong foods.  When m6 Dr put me on Metformin I started diligently watching what I ate. That plus return to golf while doing rehab, I lost 20 lbs. Now I have to exercise more and drop another 25.

Slow progress. The plague kept me out of society for about 2 weeks, so it's been a bit of a hit to the routine. Overall it's still progress. Down 60 pounds since September when I started this program. I definitely need to get some new clothes because of these changes. With today's weigh in, I'm currently only 2 pounds away from the lowest I can remember being, and that was when I was 22 in college playing multiple sports.

I haven't stepped on a scale for some time.  My gym did a fat loss competition in June - July 13th. It was based on the % of body fat lost from where a person started. The winner lost 18%, it showed he did good work, The ladies winner lost 10%.  I could never get on track and was not consistent with my workouts. I stayed the same percentage of body fat at 29%. I wasn't consistent with my workouts and had a week of vacation at a resort in the middle of the ocean.

With football season 5 weeks away I need to get moving. Keeping up with teenagers gets harder every year as I am a year older and they are still kids.

Good Luck fellas.

Take a week off and reset. Or, eat a few more calories for a couple of weeks, then reduce again. @RickyBobby_PR is a font of knowledge and hopefully will chime in.

Ugh.  Gained about 10 lbs. since March... Just lack of focus on my daily plan.  Currently 189.  Resetting my goals and focus as I move through the 2nd half of the year toward the dreaded holiday baking season ;(.

20 pounds to my goal... which I should be able to accomplish by Christmas if I maintain my resolve.

Keep up the good fight for a healthy life everyone!!

How long have you been in a caloric deficit?

What is your current caloric intake? If tracking macros provide the amount of grams for each macro.

Whats your current bodyweight, age, physical activity?

I feel like I'm about to be schooled which is a good thing. Honestly I've just been eating better and trying to be more active.

I'm 32, 6'2", have gone from 372 to 355. I have a heart condition that limits what I can do in a gym so my activity level is usually low. Golf (in a cart), coaching youth sports for two hours a day, and doing daily exercise at home. I'm a broad shouldered, big guy. A healthy weight for me is probably 250-275, but when we discovered the congenital heart valve defect, I had to stop going to the gym and it didn't take long for the weight to show up. I played sports in school and stayed in shape until that happened in college. Arguably it's more important to be be in good shape knowing I have the defect but it's much harder when I can't burn the calories I used to, haha.

Seeing this thread again is a good reminder to reset and refocus. Things were going well in July following my meal plan, working out daily, etc. and seeing results in the way clothes fit, the way I look, and on the scale. Then I went to NYC in early August for what was supposed to be a 2 day work trip (fly in Wednesday morning, work from our NY office, go to a retirement celebration for a long time colleague, work from NY office Thursday morning, and fly home Thursday afternoon). As expected, the celebration included a few drinks and the night included a couple of NY slices after midnight before heading back to the hotel. I was fine with and planned for that with the intent that I would get back to the daily grind on Friday. Well, as a result of multiple cancelled flights (2 after sitting in the plane for 3+ hours), I didn't make it home until Saturday at 4pm after flying from LGA to Roanoke, driving a rental to Greensboro, NC to get my truck, and driving home. Worked out Sunday, but then came down with something on Monday (tested negative). No meal prep, unexpectedly being on the road for days, being sick, etc., I ended up eating what was here, easy, and/or sounded good (i.e. lots of crap and didn't work out until I started feeling better). Also skipped intermittent fasting. I gained weight, feel like garbage...time to refocus!!!

I think it is a good reminder that life will happen, I might make poor eating decisions for a bit, but that's ok. I have made progress from where I started and am now in a position to refocus.

The key for me is developing a reasonable plan that is easy to stick with, modifying it over time based on results and the like. Best of luck in your journey!

Keep in mind im not a dietician, nutriotionist, etc, but I’ve been around nutrition, training and learning about both for several years, including being an advisor for 1stphorm. So none of this is advice but more so things to consider and look at to help.

I’m guessing you have probably been under eating and your at a point now where your body is going to hold onto food almost in survival mode.

There’s several options to look at to help you. Tracking what you eat so that you know how many calories you are eating a day. We all have our own maintenance calories. To lose weight we need to be in a deficit. Protein is essential in helping to lose weight due to the overall health benefits of it but also it’s thermogenic effect. Typically 1g per lb of bodyweight is recommended except for those who have more than 60lbs to lose than it’s around .6g per lb of bodyweight.

Then splitting the rest of rhe calories between carbs and fat and for men you don’t want to go below 50g a day because of the negative effects on hormones.

There are apps like MyFitnessPal that will let you track for free(I wouldn’t use it to determine your calories). Iifym.com has a free macro/calorie calculator.

Apps like carbondietcoach and macro factor (both under $12/mo for monthly subscription) or less if you do a one year membership. These two are actually coaching apps and will make adjustments weekly as necessary based on check in data. Cheaper than getting a coach which can run anywhere from $100-300/month.

The key thing is to know what you are eating daily including how much. That you keep calories as high as possible while losing weight. Too many people try to go as low as possible which only hurts and prolongs the process.

I’m here to help and answer any questions and provide suggestions if needed

Good reminder for me... my protein intake has been lower than it should be.

Same. My protein and water intake have been too low during this off period.

Very key macro for lots of things. Helps with hair, nails, satiety, metabolism and many other things.
