50* and I'd be putting away the mittens and putting on shorts - all a matter of perspective

I still have two feet of snow in my yard, but I'm headed to North Carolina for a conference I'm speaking at this week. Not expecting that I'll have a chance to play, but should be able to get to a range.

Thus, I'm bringing my clubs, nearly every training aid gadget I own, and a whole winter's worth of swing thoughts from YouTube golf coaches. What could possibly go wrong?

Weather supposed to be REALLY nice here in the Upstate (SC) towards the end of the week. Think you'll have good range weather!

I'm playing in a 4 club tourney on Saturday, it's supposed to be near 70. I'll take it.

I think it's going to be mid-June before we can play in southwest Virginia.  As I type, we have half-a-foot of snow with near zero visibility as the snow continues to hammer down.

I'm getting more adamant with my wife about a warmer climate!  Winter weather came very early last fall and isn't showing signs of relenting anytime soon.  We normally don't experience any form of wintery weather until well after Thanksgiving and, in most years, are already experiencing spring like temperatures by early March.  We got our first heavy blanket of snow several weeks prior to Thanksgiving, record setting cold through December and January and unprecedented, bitterly cold winds in February and early March.  Now, more heavy snowfall.

I'm getting too old to want to be cooped up inside for 5 months per year!

Sounds exactly like me 6+ years ago. After 3 bad snow storms back to back to back, ice dams and 2 miserable winters in a row in bailed to FL.

I don't mean to sound bitter but I can't recall a winter when we didn't have at least a couple of periods of decent weather allowing us to get outside.  This has been the harshest winter I can ever remember.  We don't live in an area that experiences prolonged, harsh winter weather.

Being cooped up can be depressing.

Our original plan was 4months CT and 8 months Myrtle Beach. We had a MB condo bought and paid for. Then came the 2 or 3 bad winters and decided we are otta here and headed south.

That's amazing that you guys are getting so much snow. We had relatively little here in northwest Ohio - so temps in January but overall sunnier than normal and fewer windy days. However, when that wind starts up it 30+ across a very cold lake Erie.

It's an odd year.  This isn't typical.  I was reading through the "weather in your neck of the woods" thread earlier thinking I had posted several pics of me and my daughter on the course at around this time last year.  Based on that thread, I had played 8 times by today's date with 5 of those 8 coming in temperatures above 70 degrees and all 8 above 60*.  We have normally reached the lower 60's by February.

We did have back to back days of 77 and 82 degrees a couple of weeks ago but the temperatures dropped 40 degrees by the next day and have stayed in that range.

I think we must have close to 2 feet of snow.

It's been snowing steadily since midnight last night and is still going. We can't even see out of the windows and this was our backyard at 1030 this morning. We are in the "jackpot" area for this storm.... just a slow moving circle that brings water from the ocean where it has time to get cold enough and drop as snow right on top of us. Can't believe spring is 7 days away.

At least we still have power.

I am not a happy camper....IMG_20180313_114209931_HDR.jpgIMG_20180313_103415763.jpg

I posted in another thread. We just had a substantial and dangerous sleet-freezing rain storm this am.More snow and cold next week. The golf season around here is 4to 5months of decent weather. You can extend it more if you want. But wearing several layers of clothes doesn't interest as much as it used to.

Keep it in the short stuff
