Youtube for golf work out programs?

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I live in Chicago area and outside of indoor golf I don't get to play much for most of the winter. I missed substantial time the last two seasons from some nagging injuries. I made the commitment to using this winter to improve my overall health and flexibility. I was wondering if anyone has used any of the programs on YouTube that are golfer specific. I'm really going for increasing flexibility and improving my overall balance and core strength.

Thanks in advance!!!

Sean

Welcome to MGS Sean!  Lots of great golf conversation going on.

I can't help you with the fitness video's but I know there are several here who will have good suggestions, as it's informed and helpful community.

I'll be watching for the suggestions as well, as I could use a bit of it myself!

There's more than a ton of this stuff on the web and YouTube. Personally I have the Roger Fredericks DVDs. I like them. It's basically yoga and doesn't require any special equipment.

Now if I'd only do the stuff more..

Sean,

Welcome to the best golf forum. Like yourself (stuck inside for the winter) I'm working on strength training and flexibility. You'll find a couple of threads here on New Years resolution to 'get back in shape'.

I'm using a combination of elliptical, total gym and other exercises to get ready for spring. Additionally, flexibility is a key component and I did find a video series on line called 'yoga for golf' I haven't purchased it yet , however I did try the free videos on this site and it looks like it'll do the trick for me on this issue.

Keep us posted on your success.

Welcome to the group Sean, I think the best exercise in the winter are six ounce curls, followed by a vigorous nap.

Welcome to MGS. I follow several golf fitness people on instagram they post a few different workouts. I go through them and plan my workouts based on what I want to workout that day. I combined that with stretching and that my workout.

I've watched several different youtube exercise routines for the past week, and I haven't lost any weight yet.

Apparently!  Watching them does make me thirsty.  Better if you watch with a couple of beers.
