Sean
Hi All, I live in Chicago area and outside of indoor golf I don't get to play much for most of the winter. I missed substantial time the last two seasons from some nagging injuries. I made the commitment to using this winter to improve my overall health and flexibility. I was wondering if anyone has used any of the programs on YouTube that are golfer specific. I'm really going for increasing flexibility and improving my overall balance and core strength. Thanks in advance!!! PlaidJacket
There's more than a ton of this stuff on the web and YouTube. Personally I have the Roger Fredericks DVDs. I like them. It's basically yoga and doesn't require any special equipment. Now if I'd only do the stuff more.. http://www.fredericksgolf.com/productdvd/roger-fredericks-reveals-secrets-golf-swing-flexibility%E2%84%A2-dvd-set My Sun Mountain bag currently includes: 771CSI 5i - PW and PFC Micro Tour-c 52°, 56°, 60 wedges EXS 10.5*, 929-HS FW4 16.5* Willimette w/GolfPride Contour

Thanks in advance!!! Sean Sean, Welcome to the best golf forum. Like yourself (stuck inside for the winter) I'm working on strength training and flexibility. You'll find a couple of threads here on New Years resolution to 'get back in shape'. I'm using a combination of elliptical, total gym and other exercises to get ready for spring. Additionally, flexibility is a key component and I did find a video series on line called 'yoga for golf' I haven't purchased it yet , however I did try the free videos on this site and it looks like it'll do the trick for me on this issue. KCLeo12
Welcome to MGS. I follow several golf fitness people on instagram they post a few different workouts. I go through them and plan my workouts based on what I want to workout that day. I combined that with stretching and that my workout. Sean
Hi All thanks for all the comments and support. I'm about two weeks into trying some different things. I have used you tube for some golf specific yoga, as well as some apps for my core strength. I have lost about 3 lbs and at the indoor golf league I am in I have increased my ball speed by about 3 mph. More importantly my swing is becoming much more consistent. I can't believe how much flexibility I had lost over the years until I started this journey. One example was I could barley bend to my knees when I started now I can almost touch my toes on this stretch. What I am using YouTube yoga for golf there are a bunch so I rotate them. Some are easier then others for sure. Apps 30 day and free on Android I started as beginner Stretching by fitify If anyone on here was thinking about starting a program go for it the first couple days sucked cause I was sore, but once I got past that it has been great. Thank you all for making my first post a success!!!
