Popeye64
It's been a long time in the works but Golfworks just released their new PTM heads. Form forged and available in Pearl Chrome and the DBM finish. Minimal progressive offset and progressive bounce as well. Can't wait to get this head, should be in hand Wednesday. I'm gonna test it against my MMB-17 with the same Nippon 950GH s shaft. You have to buy the full set for the blacks so I will only test the chrome 6 iron for now. Lofts are modern day stronger by 1 to 2° than the DBM. Blacks are the same specs but with that indestructible finish. Should be fun stuff!! Popeye64
What does DBm stand for Sent from my SM-G930V using MyGolfSpy mobile app Diamonized Black Metal. It's a coating process that actually gets into the metal not on. It's really tough and does not add thickness to the face so the milled grooves actually work better than a chromed head. I have yet to see any bag chatter on a DBM coated head. Even though it's a soft forging. One of Matlbys best selling heads is named DBM as well.. Which might get confusing down the line as this process is gaining popularity as more people realize it doesn't fade like the PVD coating. So if you look on the catalog they are being referee to a blacks on the different models. I usually coated mine with a little WD40 and after 2 years they still looked new. mooremikea
The black heads look awesome. Always liked the black irons that Ricky plays but don't have the game for blades. These look a little more forgiving. Wish there was a place to demo the irons without ordering a single club like the OP did. Everyone who plays the DBM heads seems to really like them. mooremikea
Have you ever tried blades? I have played Callaway Apex Pro 14 but not true blades. The past couple seasons toe hits have scared me away from blades. You can get away with hits out of the heel with blades but toe hits don't go anywhere. At some point I will find a used set of blades and give them a try. Miketheripper
I've had a set of DG S300 shafts laying around for awhile, I've been looking for some affordable heads, but, people on eBay want almost as much for just the heads as they want for a shafted set of clubs, and most aftermarket heads are .370 bores, and the S300s that I have are .355 taper tips, looking at the chart it appears that the hosel are universal or dual bore, and I really like the look of these clubs and the fact that the lofts are a little stronger. I'm really going to have to take a hard look at these. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
