Yup, a couple of the shots where the wedges are on steel, I used bubble wrap to filter the overhead light.

My thoughts I posted in the blog.

 

They seem to have a great performing product in the MD line, so not surprised there are no major changes. I do like the red color change and the addition of the X grind sounds interesting.

That said, i just recently got the Cleveland CBX offering custom made to my specs, and it is the best feeling wedge I've had in my hands in a long time. So I think Callaway still has a way to go to overtake a long time leader in the wedge category.

Any one have experience with the black finish and it's durability? Is it as durable as the Cobra or PXG black finish? I love the look of the chrome, but I can't stand the glare it causes at certain points in the day.

Like the red and LOVE the chrome finish. As I game both Clevelands and Vokeys, I volunteer to test these bad boys out 🤣

Reading stuff like this, and ogling the photos is like "food porn" - showing stuff like cutting a thick, juicy steak with a spoon, or a nice thick bacon, lettuce, bacon, tomato and bacon sandwich ... all while on a diet-

A little spoon-y for my eye. I found that I prefer a flat leading edge like the MD forged. Aesthetically though, these are sick - it might just be the glamour shots or maybe it's Maybelline?

One thing that I never saw before owning Edel wedges is a slimmed our hosel to face profile so that the club can be laid wide open and actually be FLAT to the ground. These and others are never really flat when opened-up.

Good looking, but no real technology here.

I had to Google it: Mack Daddy is slang for pimp. How charming. Does anyone actually need to adjust those weights especially on a wedge? I didn't think so.

Thanks for making me smarter, I assumed a weight port would allow it to be adjustable (think PXG). So it is ornamental, I get it. Maybe you can get matching ear rings? I will stick with my SM6's.

I used to play the SM5 wedges, they were the worst wedges I ever played, I won't go back to titleist. I've played Cleveland and The MD3, and liked them both. That's the beauty of golf equipment, what works for some don't work for others and vice versa.
