That is a fair observation, and excellent advice. I may just do that.

You could probably find a used sm6 on ebay pretty cheap now that the SM7s are out. Just remember to look for a lob or gap wedge as the cg in 54 and 56 degree wedges is standard

How's the finish holding up on the Jet Black? I love black wedges but hate how they look a few months down the road. Cobra's black finish is legit but I'm not aware of the durability with Titleist.

The Brushed Steel finish wears pretty quick but it sort of adds to the classic look of the wedge

I don't have a lot of shots in with my sm7 black but the wear is definitely better than the sm6 so far

I'm really interested in that Low Bounce K grind in the Vokey shop. Wish I could try the dang things out first.

You could find a Cobra wedge in Wide Low config. Basically the same thing as far as the bounce is concerned. $200 is a lot to drop on a flyer to see if it'll work.

Hope these pictures help show the wear on the brushed steel finish.

The fitter at Club Champion said the “raw” is the way to go! $185 or $195 per club, but he said they're incredibly soft, like no other wedge out there. The pro spec is over $200 per wedge! Daaaang!

Apparently, the finish on the brushed steel wears through pretty quick giving it that Raw look and feels.

This is what I have heard but don`t quote me on that only time will tell.

Different and softer metal with the “raw”, thus a higher price point.

Brushed Steel is same price. So is the black.

The Tour Raw available at the vokey custom shop are pricier though.

Yep, those ones. They are BUTTERY.

Maybe I should try a raw one. Supposed to be the best wedges in the game right? My favorite clubs anyways. Might as well have “the best”.

I've heard the same. I was looking at them plus getting the wedgeworks customization and I was over $300 for one wedge. Still debating to get one though minus all of the customization work

I wouldn't do anything to it, besides the shaft. No extra stuff. Just plain and simple.

Man those raw SM7s look tasty...now to find a way to order them without the wife knowing the true price tag. Only one grind available in each loft for lefty...meh...I can handle that.

Anyone have a bank account in the caymans that can assist in money laundering? Thanks in advance.

  • 4 weeks later...

Well a short review after using these for a month

Titleist Vokey SM7

Initially, when I got them I was impressed upon unwrapping, The finish looked beautiful in the Brushed steel.

The new D grind in the 58 worked well through the very wet turf here in the UK

The 50 and 54 are the S grind for a bit of all-around performance.

I`m going to be totally honest here and throw it out there, the feel even using premium balls is harsh compared to the Mizuno S18.

The Mizuno S18  feel softer yet more solid. In fact, I hate to say it but the Vokeys feel cheap in comparison."ouch"

The brushed steel finish lasted a couple of rounds and now the clubs look aged but it suits the wedges.

I really wanted these to be the ones because I wanted a complete Titleist bag but it`s not going to happen they have really robbed me of my short game prowess and confidence to pull off a lot of stock shots I have produced time and time again with the Mizuno S18.

I play 6 days a week and the Vokeys have had a thorough testing.

I am glad I have kept hold of the Mizuno S18 wedges they are going straight back in my bag.

In my opinion, Vokeys are overrated and being a massive Titleist fan that just killed me saying that.
