MGS has written instructions on how to increase your chances of getting selected included in some of the contests.  A very good read if you are really interested.

The good news is down-voting is not a feature on this forum. I'd say that leads to a more friendly environment for all involved and (should) help folks feel more comfortable to share their opinions.

DO NOT feel obligated to post.  It is perfectly reasonable to simply read the articles and postings from others.... don't be shy about sharing your opinion or thoughts...no one is going to shout you down on here and everyone - everyone - has a great deal of respect for each other.

 

a good starting point: click that link on the right column that says "New Content" and go from there... you'll find something interesting and worthwhile

Truth be told? I pulled the picture from Google. It just spoke to general populations on social media sites.

 

I would say the center section (9%) is probably a little bigger for MGS but I didn't actually analyze the post counts. Even still, it's done some good getting the conversation rolling that's for sure.

 

To answer your question, the top 1% on 60k members would be 600 people. Which is about right for MGS as those are generally 500-1000 posts.

You can say that again. Even in the 1%, there's a lot of spam, senseless 3 word replies. It's about quality, not quantity.

I didn't take it that way at all. It really hadn't occurred to me to use Google. I was starting to type something about old dogs and new tricks when my office phone rang, so I posted a somewhat incomplete thought.

OK so now you've got my wheels turning (which can be dangerous). I did a quick check and spot 600 has 35 posts. So..... Almost everyone.

 

The curious thing is the viewable list only has about 30k members so maybe the 60k number includes archived or deleted accounts? Or maybe the viewable list has a limit for how much it can even catalog? The last members on the list have 0 so it wouldn't be a cut off for only those that have posted.

 

If we're counting the 1% of 30k, that would be anyone over 100 posts and the 9% amounts to basically anyone that has posted more than once.

That's just it. You get that (and more) on the desktop site. It works well enough on mobile for looking up quick things.

I can't believe I have over 500 posts. I'm usually a lurker on most forums, I don't know what's come over me.

 

I've been a member of another well known golf forum since 2006 and only recently cracked the 100 post mark there.
