To my knowledge, the two closest courses would be The Golf Club at Wisp and the Lodestone Golf Course.   Unfortunately, I have not played either, but I have been told that they are not bad tracks.   I have played the Oakland Country Club.  If you're just looking for a course to play, it will meet you need.   If willing to commute to the Cumberland area, there is Rocky Gap, a Nicklaus course.  For what it may be worth there is a casino as well.

If the concept is just to play golf with the buds, the area will accommodate it.

I went to college out near Rocky Gap and back then it was just an empty park. The hotel and Nicklaus designed course are considered "great" for that area, but not sure how it stacks up to other resorts with signature courses. You should definitely head into Cumberland for lunch one day at D'atris and have one of their legendary cheese steaks, I'm salivating just thinking about it.

Looks like 95 to Baltimore then 70w to 68 would be quickest

In Havre de Grace not far from the Delaware line on 95, there is Bulle Rock.   It promotes itself as up-scale and rather expensive.   Many state that they love it, but I must admit it is not one of my favorites-not worth the price, in my opinion.

In Marriotsville, just west of Baltimore on 70 is Waverly Woods.  I have play this course often with fellow spy, Carolina.  It is a good and enjoyable venue.

Off of 70 in the Frederick/Hagerstown area are multiple really nice tracks, but can be expensive (the $100 to $125 range).  My personal favorite in Musket Ridge, but I also highly recommend Whiskey Creek and Worthington Manor.

On 68, just before getting to Cumberland is the Rocky Gap resort that has a Nicklaus signature course.  I've played it and its OK but nothing to write home about.  I don't know its current fee.

Of those mentioned, I would suggest Waverly Woods due to less travel time giving more time to play, its a short trip off 70, its an enjoyable track and less expensive than the others mentioned.

These tracks are the ones just off the top of my head so to speak. If other possibilities come to mind, I will post them.

Charli:

I've played Wisp course. It's basically the slopes being used as fairways during the summer. Kinda of cool tee off at the top of a slope and seeing the ball travel forever in the air. As TheWahoo said, Waverly Woods, musket Ridge, and whiskey creek are all good tracks. Worthington Manor has been a us qualifier site so that might be worth checking out. Can't go wrong with any of the previously suggested stops. Haven't played lode stone or Rocky Gap but heard they were great tracks as well.!

Yeah we are playing 2 rounds at lodestone 2 at the Fantasy valley wisp resort. Sunday driving home and stopping at one of those courses mentioned. Kind of intrigued with the course being a us qualifier. Might have just sold me

So just to give people an update we went fantasy valley lodestone then bulle rock. Everyone preached how good bulle rock is but I'm a way bigger fan of lodestone. I have a course like bulle rock where I live. Lodestone was awesome and empty I'm not even sure how they stay open. Everyone was friendly and brought someone in early To make us breakfast. I wish I took some pictures for you guys. I can't even do it justice. I'm hoping to get back there in the fall.
