Back when I was a toddler things were different.  The ladies back then had certain responsibilities that I'm sure modern ladies would look at you like ya bounced  that nogging off the pavement one too many times.   Check out this article from the the 1950 era.

I'm not bragging here, on second thought, yeah I am. My wife is awesome. The majority of that she does(without complaining, ever). I hear stories from coworkers and I can't believe everyone's wife don't do like mine. Oh and by the way we're 30 and 31 years old.

My wife has that book. It's a riot. I do about 50% of the cooking in my house. Especially on days when I telecommute.

LOL!!!   Since you are a country boy, I know that you know that you never say anything makes that arse look bigger and you never demand anything from that arse.  Instead, you tell them how lucky you are for that arse and how great their vittles are and how much you appreciate them.

 

Its like the story of the guy that answered his door to find the sheriff there.   The sheriff asked if he had a picture of his wife.  While he didn't know why, he showed the sheriff a picture of his wife.   The sheriff said, I'm sorry but it appears that your wife was hit by a truck.  To which he replied, yea, but she sure can cook.
