2018 Fantasy Golf

For all interested (including those not in the league), here's the playoff bracket. I'd expect some pretty interesting roster moves will be required from here on out as players are eliminated from the FedEx Cup race. Probably a safe bet that our league winner will have the FedEx winner as well.

 

 

Special congrats to Undershooter, Mudfish, BjornBoys, and poprocksncoke for earning first round byes. Take a load off and enjoy the week off!

Week 1 of the playoffs: I have 8 guys for 4 slots. If I'm calculating correctly, I have about a 0% chance of picking the right 4 players.

Only downside with Niemann is that he wasn't a tour member, so no playoffs for him! UGH

Yep, it hurts me a lot by losing Suri and Fitzpatrick. Damn Euro tour guys. And Wagner just missed the playoffs. 

 

Edit: Also about to lose Bud Cauley bc he's still out from that car wreck. Was holding on to him purely for the playoffs lol

No I set it up so anyone out of playoffs is ineligible to make roster moves. For the integrity of the league, teams in the playoffs need to dance with the dates they brought.

I was waiting for Stud to chime in first, but I totally agree with him. It wouldn't really be fair to teams in the upper half of the league because they wouldn't have a chance to pick anyone up due to their position in waivers.

If it was, the play would be to intentionally be terrible all year and be one of the bottom 3 teams. That way you would have a sneaky good roster and still be able to pick up some stud player that one of the other's dropped. A sudden addition of a top 20-30 player in the world is huge. Especially if they get hot.

Can confirm. You're definitely boned lol. As is Kory unless Kokrak makes a big big move to overcome the 65 point deficit to MPR.

 

Junkie and MGoBlue are deadlocked after the cut but Junkie is at a slight disadvantage with JB Holmes missing the cut.

 

Shankster is probably going to need DJ to go nuts on the weekend and make top 3 to have a chance at catching jahren. Jahren had all 4 players make the cut and leads by 50.

Yea, of course I have one of me best weeks ever and it doesn't mean a thing...  I just need Charlie Hoffman to get his butt moving so I have have 4 people under the top 70... right now he is projected at 73...

Well well well. Here we are at halftime+ and the higher seeds are in precarious positions (except Undershooter). Did I mention I suck at making predictions? That's probably why I'm watching the playoffs from the couch.

 

poprocks and jahren are in an absolute dogfight and our acronym heros MPR and LCH are primed to take down big dogs.

 

 

Interested to see where it goes from here! I haven't seen a lick of the golf yet this weekend besides highlights of Tiger.

 

 

Awful funny to see two of my players in the top 10...... Gotta be thinking I'd be in good shape if I didn't set my lineup like a nimrod at the PGA

Meanwhile, I face the very real possibility of winning in the quarterfinals and then have no players at all in the final. Every surviving member of my squad is currently between 36-70 in the FedEx standings.

Here we go! It's crunch time now boys. This week was a fun one to watch as everyone put up pretty solid scores. I'm wondering if everyone still has enough players alive to fill a team? I gotta say I'm very impressed with MPR taking that DFL pick in the draft and making the most of it.

Here's where that comes back to bite me. I had a team of unspectacular, steady cut-makers. Never had a tournament winner this whole season.

 

My team was basically CH3.

 

To be fair, picking 16 and 17, I should have someone in the top 30. But by the time I picked, the names you'd figure are locks for the top 30 were gone.
