Did anyone happen to notice that the shaft length for Ted Potter's driver was 46”.

I'm not starting this thread to advocate for a longer driver shaft but simply to point out that you should use what fits your swing best. We've had guys Willy Nilly suggest lopping a couple of inches off of their driver shaft because some well known touring pro was using a shorter driver.

Don't do it!

You can bet that the Pro went through extensive fitting and trial before going with a shorter shaft.

Go with what your are fit for, you'll find that an experienced fitter gets you in a shaft length that puts the ball on the sweet spot most frequently.

Here's a great reminder of that.

Very true, get fitted. I use a 44 1/2” driver because that's the length that fits me. With a standard off the rack 45 plus driver my swing gets really flat and lots of heel shots. Irons are 1/2” short as well, I'm just built close to the ground, or vertically challenged if you will.

So the saying is get fit. But I want to see how many of the 2018 drivers are standard over 45”. And then find me places that are going to have 46” shafts to hit. Very few if any will be able to do this unless the stock offering is 46”.
