I turned 67 last month and am in very good health. My wife and I have a blended family of 4 children and 7 grandchildren.

During "the season" my wife and I play 2 to 3 times a week, usually 9+ holes after work at a parks & rec course in town. Then on Saturday or Sunday (with our son-in-law) at a GolfNow course nearby that fits our collective budgets and time constraints. Our GolfNow favorites are: 1)The Bull at Boone's Trace; 2) Battlefield; 3) Thoroughbred at HighPoint; and 4) Connamera. Our favorite parks & rec courses are; 1) Lakeside; 2) Gay Brewer at Picadome; and 3) Tates Creek.

We even look for opportunites to play while on vacation, most recently in Hilton Head Island where we took in Island West, Robert Cupp at Palmetto Hall Plantation, Barony and Robbers Row at Port Royal and The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes. We've also played courses in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Illinois, and the Los Angeles area. I also review the courses we play for Golf Advisor.

We tell everyone we do it for the exercise but it would be nice to see improvement in our scores. We started back playing about 5 years ago after a 25 year hiatus and I still struggle to break 90 (best score being 85), while she has drastically improved to now breaking 110 more often than not.

I've changed sets of clubs twice, she's changed three times - I currently use Callaway Great Big Berthas, Top Flight SW and Ping putter while hers are an off-brand set she is extremely happy with.

We enjoy playing just together or with couples of comparable talent.

Welcome from the Pacific Northwest!!  Glad you joined us Hammer.  Nice intro!!  It sounds a lot like golf for my wife and I.  She's 62 and I'm 70.  Although we are members of a local muni, we love to travel all over the Northwest and beyond; just got back from 2 weeks in Palm Springs.
