Vertigo.. have you had it before?

Recommended Posts

I've been dealing with the weirdest thing.

Dizzy, light headed, light nausea, ringing ears(ocean sound),

Headache, weakness, chest pains, for almost 2 weeks now.

All blood work came back good. Treadmill stress test cardiac came out great. (I got a stent 5 years ago)

Not the heart, good.

It's sloghtly better tonite, but I got ear, nose, throat doc appt Thursday.

Other doctors are guessing it could be some vertigo.

I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Has anyone dealt with it, or have any idea of treatments available?

Does it just “go away”, as suddenly as it showed up?

Anyways-

Thanks for your thoughts in advance,

cheers, sluggo.

I can only tell you what I do for it on the ambulance and that is give benzodiazepines to help ease the effects. You may get meds for it or they have other ways to deal with it.

If it's vertigo there are actually exercises to do for it. My wife had it, that was a nightmare. It eventually got better though.

I hope you get a clear diagnosis and path to recovery soon.

I will keep you safe n my prayers

I did. Not fun. I woke-up one morning and couldn't walk through my apartment without running into the walls.

Never had it, but it was one of the key reasons David Duval fell from #1 to can't break 80. Hopefully this is a short term thing and you will recover, but ENT or Audiologist are good next steps as it could be an inner ear issue.

You might want to check to see if you have symptoms of Meniere's disease.  I have tinnitus and joined a forum that discusses issues such as the ringing in the ears etc.

Never had it but have friends who do. It is much more debilitating than people realize. Hope you find out the cause soon.

I've had it after surgery due to Percocet. Went away right after changing meds. Probably obvious, but any change in your meds?

Moose - I'm glad you mentioned this. I just had surgery, I've been taking Percoset, and I've been feeling like my Meniere's is back after several years. Luckily, I'm just about done with pain meds.

Yea, pretty well stopped all meds, but kinda unsure if they had any effects or not.

See the ENT doc tomorrow, but I'm thinking I want a cat scan of the brain, just to rule out a tumor.

I've lost a few close friends to that damned cancer in the last few years...

My wife has had some lately; believe we've narrowed it to a nerve issue in her neck. The exercise revkev mentioned is called a tens maneuver (I prob misspelled that) and it will def help inner ear issues. Good luck, keep us posted.

Wife had it. Still comes back a bit here and there. Epley maneuver was helpful to get the crystals back into the right part of the ears for her. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epley_maneuver

Pretty damn scary, but it does seem to go away...

My sympathies. Went through it 5 years ago. 3 ENTS, MRI to check for tumor (menires), drinking distilled water, chiropractor, lots of internet digging, and lots of sleepless night. It was horrible. My last ENT said it would burn out and it did minus an occasional very light episode. I am 99 % free from it. Goodluck as I fully understand what you are going through.

Hope you feel better. My brother's girlfriend has it but from what I heard she's coping well with it. My mom just had the symptoms last weekend and she spent 4 days in the hospital to recover. We are dealing with it.

I've been to the range yesterday and all went fine-

Hoping to get out later this week...

Fingers crossed as I seem to be getting better and better.

It's scary when you think about people who get this and it sticks to them for a long period of time.

Anyways, enough of this thread- I'm ready to move past this crap
