They're great in the summer time if you sweat a lot. They're on clearance if you buy them through the Lamkin website...at least some colors are on clearance. I have them on my wedges and really like them. They also come in ribbed, which is awesome if you like the 'reminder' on the back of the grip. You're right about them being a bit on the firm side, I didn't think to mention that. It's a big plus in my mind.
