GolfJunkie302 2,232
Does everyone try to regrip anually? It seems like a lot of people do. I have not regripped my irons for over three years, but they still feel like they're brand-new. I wash them every few rounds with soap and water. I assume since soap is basic, it breaks down the oils left on the grip? What are everyone's thoughts/opinions? Popular Post Golfspy_CG2 25,568
To re-grip annually, would mean I'd need to keep the set for more than a year...is that correct There was a time I played one set for over two years, and I think I had them regripped once. 11 Quote TSi2 Kuro Kage 50g R Flex TSi2 16.5 FW with GD AD IZ 6 Shaft G410 FW 7 Alta CB R flex G410 Hybrid 26 degree Alta CB R Flex T100S/T200 Combo 5-7 T100S 8-P T200 TT Black Oynx R Flex SM7 54.08 F 58.12 K Heppler Tomcast ProV1X Play number
GolfSpy MPR 10,217
I've found that it really depends on the grips. I bought my Adams XTD Tours with Iomic grips on them. I have really liked these grips, and see no reason to change them after a season's use. I had another set of grips (from Champ) that, after a season, got hard and slick and just had to go. 1 Quote Epic Flash Sub Zero, 9°, Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 70 X Mavrik Sub Zero 15°, Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 70 S F6 5-6W, 18.5°, Fujikura Motore 6.3 XTD Proto dHy 21°, Aldila Green NV Hybrid 105 S 699 Pro, Modus3 105, 5–PW Forged Black 50°, 54°, and 58° Stroke Lab EXO Seven Mini, 34" Z-Star XV Full WITB with pictures

MDGolfHacker 7,019
For me, it depends. I regrip them when they need to be regripped, i.e. Show wear or develops a shine. I clean my grips after every round so they tend to last longer. MDGolfHacker 1 Quote What's In This Lefty's Bag? hckymeyer 6,254
It all depends on how much you play and how well you take care of your equipment. Also as mentioned some grips just last longer than others. I can usually get a few seasons out of grips, but like Carolina it's rare that a club lasts longer than the grip. My SLDR driver is the only contender (4 years and still going) and I've regripped it once or twice. 2 Quote Driver: Epic SZ w/ VA Composites Raijin 65 04 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. STUDque 11,873
I feel like the companies are doing a heck of a job manufacturing more durable grips these days. I'm not as much of a ho as the rest here and still have never needed to change a grip because of wear. The first thing I do when I get a club is swap the grip. I just don't want someone else's hand juice. If I change a grip after that, it's because I'm in the mood to try something else. I finally decided to take the plunge on a removal tool because it just seemed like a waste to ditch good grips. My irons are entering their 7th season in my bag. I just changed the grips for the first time since I've had them. I didn't even change them because of wear....I changed them because I wanted to try something different. If I had the tool at the time, I could've saved the grips and let someone else benefit too! As others have said, results may vary but your grips will last as long as you take care of them. I clean mine with dish soap once or twice during the year but that's about it. I do hoe my grips though.
