tony@CIC
Here's an interesting article - this probably applies to us mid and high handicappers more than anyone else. Having gone to LPGA events I can validate the points made here especially on the short game. https://foregals.com/2018/03/02/lpga-events-players-guy/?utm_campaign=apple-news&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=apple-news Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300
cnosil
I am a huge fan of the LPGA and volunteer at my local event. I have said the same things the article states when taking with others about the LPGA. Having been to Web.cim, PGA, senior PGA, Symetra, and LPGA tournaments the majority of the women are much nicer than their male counterparts. Kenny B
I have been to two LPGA events; both majors and I can tell you that their play is phenomenal. Except for the long ball, their games are right there with the PGA tour players. Playing from the fairway is crucial because of the differences in upper body strength and swing speed. These ladies are very accurate. It's not a bomb and gouge game. My gripe is with the TV coverage. It's better than it used to be, but I would rather see a little more LPGA coverage than multiple reruns of the PGA. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Canucklehead
I love watching the LPGA. Probably prefer it to the PGA because they hit it a realistic distance. Sure I can pump one out to 300 once in a while, but 240-250 is what I'm usually at, and watching them has certainly taught me a thing or two Sent from my E6853 using Tapatalk
revkev
Why would this apply to mid and high handicap golfers only? I get to practice next to Brittany Lincicome on occasion as well as guys who play on the Hooters and Canadian Tour. There's not much difference in regards to how far she hits the ball and she's far more accurate. She's a plus 3 on the tips, 7200 yards, at our club. Unless a guy is on the web.com or destined for tour stardom as a high level collegiate player she's beating him like a drum. None of our pros will play her for money that's for sure. Kegger
I love watching LPGA golf and agree with the article. It's always easier to relate to the women in regards to club distances and course strategy. I've only been to one event, the 2018 Women's US Open, and had a blast. I need to get out to more events. tony@CIC
The ONLY thing I miss when I cut the cable a few months ago is the Golf Channel coverage of the LPGA. By the way if you haven't seen the leaderboard - Nelly Korda is at the top at -15 one shot ahead of Kang and 5 ahead of her sister. That would be a great overseas finish for the Korda women - Jessica in Thailand and Nelly in Singapore. Charli
Ill play the other side of this...I'll play the bad guy. I don't watch the LPGA because I find it incredibly boring. When watching a professional why would I want to watch someone have the same yardage's as me. Now don't get me wrong they would whoop me no denying that. But convince me otherwise. Do you guys enjoy it because you just love golf that much have daughters that have their favorite? I like the fact that I can possible learn something from watching them. I guess my opinion is also jaded by having volunteered or know people that have volunteered for various events; the men are just generally less than friendly toward the fans and volunteers. Won't try to convince you otherwise; not everything appeals to everyone. STUDque
I don't particularly like watching the women either, but it's not the quality of golf that drives me away. It's the awful presentation. Boring announcers, no top tracer, terrible camera work, and no drama. I feel the same way about the men's European tour. Couple that with the fact that they're hardly ever on major TV and I just can't get invested. Outside of Lexi and a few others, I have no idea who the rest of the field even is. The men's game is compelling because there's so many players with distinguishable personalities that we get to see on a weekly basis. They just don't get the exposure. They are great with the fans. The Kingsmill Championship is basically their Players. There's a walkway from the 18th Green to the clubhouse, and there's a spot where kids camp out to get autographs. Every. Player. Signs. Everything. They are so great with the fans. The TV coverage is subpar, however. That is absolutely correct. I'd buy a streaming package for better coverage.
