To be fair, it's never been more than 3...a man has to know his limitations    Two are currently up for potential sale, and the funds would go straight into escrow for results of the fitting.

Anyway, I don't want to sidetrack the thread, to be about me...there will most likely be one for that in time.

 

But just got done watching two more, the Wedge fitting for the High Handicapper, and it was packed full of great information.  Learned a lot more about bounce than I had known, and I thought I had understood it pretty well.   Ian just keeps dropping knowledge that is fascinating. 

 

Then saw one from a month or two back Mike the 5 handicap that is one of their fitters, and saw him try the JPX Forged, AP2 and Srixon 565, two of the three that I have tried and owned,.  That was a good one as well.   Ian took him back out of the extra length he was playing, just because he wanted more distance.

Great news!!   IT IS going to happen.  Have been emailing with Matt, and just coordinating some dates between Ian, him and me and then we'll book it.

The fitting will be on a Monday.  Current plans would be to come up sometime Saturday afternoon, and do some site seeing or golf on Sunday.  So by all means would love to tee it up with anybody in the area.  Once we get the actual date confirmed and I book my flights, I'll let you know and it'd be great to get a warmup round in before the fitting!

So the fitting is confirmed and scheduled for early June. Will probably start a thread as time gets closer.

 

Oh and one more set of clubs was sold last night, so those funds will go into post Fitting Purchase account.

The high handicap iron fitting video is great. Liked the tidbits of information about lower/stronger lofted clubs and how a non pro player should look at them. Yes more distance and maybe less spin but higher launch and steeper descent. And how you have to keep the entire set in mind to appropriately fill the gaps after fitting for new clubs. The final segment showing how the lie adjustments helped the current set was also a nice comparison.

 

I am amazed at how fast the time goes by while watching these videos. Very well done. Can't believe I am actually watching a YouTube channel on a regular basis.

LOL...I know what you mean, I said something earlier in the thread that their videos have become Must Watch TV.   The entire production is just such high quality, better than any other YouTube golf content out there period.   

 

I re watched Sam's driver fitting last night just to see again what impressive changes they made for him.  Such an incredible change in ball flight and distance.

Ian's comment about "lighter but stiffer" made sense to me, I am sure it has to do with how you load the shaft, tempo, etc. Remember that with these videos there might be more than is happening on screen (maybe multiple shafts tried, more discussion on the players swing than just the numbers). That being said, I am still amazed the crazy differences these guys can give anybody. I get more and more terrified they are only an hour drive away!

 

And as an aside, I can not stand the S300 DG shaft. I can't imagine they put many players in it, low spin, low launch, very few recreational golfers are going to fit into that profile. I get sad whenever I look at a used iron I might want to purchase and see they have those shafts.

I don't mind my s300 but I hit my shots very high with way too much spin normally it did make me wondering if that was the right shaft or now much of a difference I could get from a new shaft selection.
