revkev 22,550
I know it's a week early but I can't help but getting in the jab that there will be twice as many players capable of winning the Masters at the Valspar as there will be at..... the Masters. One of the Masters great secrets of success is limiting the field. It insures having big names in contention and in the Butler Cabin more often than not also. Regardless I've got a mini buddies weekend on tap. Valspar on Friday, Golf on Saturday. I'm off Sunday next weekend as well. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy 9 Quote Ping G410 - turned down to11.25 degrees, neutral setting - Fujikura Motore X R flex Ping G410 5-9 wood Wilson D7 forged 6-GW - Mamiya recoil 460 R flex SCOR 52,60 EVNRoll ER 5 Titleist Pro VIx optic yellow with revkev stamped on them Currently testing Edison wedges to replace SCORS that are wearing out. Also auditions for the 14th spot in the bag. Current possibilities are a Ping 26 degree hybrid - duplicates the 9 wood or 5 iron but would be used almost exclusively for chipping or Tour Exotics 3 wood simply because you can carry 14 clubs and I might occasionally hit it in certain unusual wind conditions once every four or five rounds. Kor.A.Door 5,839
Actually there are 144 players in the field for valspar, and the Masters looks like there will be more than 100, so there will actually be about 1/3 more players that have a chance to win at the valspar than there will be at the masters. 😠1 Quote Lefties are always in their Right Mind
tha_carter7 13
Prolly the best Valspar field to date. Considering this tourney didn't have a title sponsor a couple years ago, this is huge for them and the TB community. But as we've seen at Torrey, Riv, and PGA National - when T-Dubs comes out...so do the crazies. I bet Speith and Stenson rolled their eyes when they saw their pairing for Thursday and Friday haha 1 Quote Driver: 915 D3 10.5* - Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana S+ Blue 60 3 Wood: Vapor Fly 15* - Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana S+ Blue 70 Hybrid: 712U 3 Iron - TT Dynamic Gold S300 Irons: 714 AP2 4-P - TT Dynamic Gold S300 Wedge: BV Raw Black SM5 52*.12*F, 56*.14*F, 60*.08*M - TT Dynamic Gold W Flex Putter: 33" Cameron & Crown 6M Futura - Super Stroke 3.0 Slim Ball: ProV1
Peanut05 299
I'm interested to see how Sam Burns plays in this one. He's a local kid and his coach is the same guy I go to for lessons. I'm would love to see him get another top 10 like he did a few weeks ago. I've seen him play a couple times around here and he's got a ton of talent. 1 Quote In my bag: Callaway Epic Subzero with Aldila Rogue Max 75 Stiff shaft Callaway Rogue Subzero with Project X Evenflow 6.0 75g stiff shaft Callaway Rogue 3 Hybrid with Aldila Synergy 60 HYB stiff shaft Callaway Apex irons (4-PW) with True Temper XP 95 stiff shafts Callaway MD3 wedges (50/54/58) SeeMore Original FGP Bridgestone Tour B RX

STUDque 11,873
In seriousness, this is shaping up to be a perfect time for DeChambeau to break through and get his second win. revkev 22,550
Weather for Thursday and Friday will be cool and breezy - gusts to 25 Thursday and 20 Friday. Should be fun. It is not a bombers delight but he also doesn't have to hit many drivers so it could work well. It's a course that tends to reward good iron play.
