Kanoito
So my daughter turned 3 a couple of months ago and she is now 39" tall (which is the shortest US Kids club available). And the snow is gone so I thought about taking her to the driving range to whack some real balls for the first time. Are there any other manufacturers for kid's clubs? Or is US Kids the only alternative? Thanks! Berg Ryman
There are a ton of different options, depends on how much you want to spend. I know big box stores have Top Flite and Cobra kids sets, Ping's Moxie pine is good as well. Just remember with kids clubs, you're not buying for forever with them. 00sportsman
Bought my four year old grandson some Ultra's at the local Walmart. They don't seem as heavy as some others I looked at, but are heavier than the US Kids. Fortunately he can handle them, but I think manageable head weight is more important than pretty much anything else at that age. Got to be able to get the head to the right spot to make contact. JTexGolfer
You can get US Kids lightly used on eBay for cheap. That's the route I went for my daughter. Bought my son some Wilson ultras and would go us kids if I had to do it again. As soon as he outgrows these I will definitely go back to US Kids. Their headweighting is just spot on. My 5 year old daughter crushes the blue driver for her height. 400 Driver (8*) UST ATTAS Punch 6S F6 Baffler (16*) Matrix Red Tie 65Q4 816 H1 Hybrid (21*,23*) Diamana S+ Blue 82 HY Z765 (5-PW) +2* Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw Vokey SM5 50.08F 54.10M Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw PM Grind 60* Dynamic Gold S400 TR 1966 Anser 2 Z Star ball Pioneer Cart Bag
HardcoreLooper
Our First Tee chapter strongly recommends US Kids. My youngest had been playing with her older sister's Hagen Junior (Dick's Sporting Goods house brand) for the last few years, but I just replaced them with USK. The USK clubs are much lighter, with more flexible shafts. She swings them much better. The Ping Moxies are nice as well. Our head pro's son plays those. Cobra's kids clubs are also pretty good. And I'm starting to hear good things about Flynn Golf (http://flynn-golf.com/Home), but I have yet to see them personally. Kanoito
That's exactly what I wanted to know. Didn't know Cobra and PING made kid's clubs. I've only seen USK around the stores here, so I guess that's the route to go. Thanks for the input guys! Really helpful. ED13
My oldest daughter's first set were Pings. The shafts were much stiffer than my younger daughters US Kids set. The stiff shafts made it much more difficult for her to get height on her shots. I don't know if they are better now but something to be cautious about. Kanoito
Just went to a pro shop to try the 39" USK clubs. Length is OK buy I could tell the club was still kind of heavy for my daughter. And according to the guy, those are already the lights amongst manufacturers. I'm sure she'll used to it soon. Purchased the 3 club set with bag. JTexGolfer
They make a “yard club†that is even lighter. My daughter has one of those along with her driver and it works really well. Very big and very light head and with a real flexible shaft. Might be worth getting ine if those to let her swing for a while. 400 Driver (8*) UST ATTAS Punch 6S F6 Baffler (16*) Matrix Red Tie 65Q4 816 H1 Hybrid (21*,23*) Diamana S+ Blue 82 HY Z765 (5-PW) +2* Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw Vokey SM5 50.08F 54.10M Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw PM Grind 60* Dynamic Gold S400 TR 1966 Anser 2 Z Star ball Pioneer Cart Bag

Purchased the 3 club set with bag.If she's struggling with weight a bit, have her flip her driver upside down and swing to get the feel of creating speed. When kids struggle with the weight of their clubs, they often develop and groove very slow swings, even after they're physically strong enough to handle the weight. My 10 year old daughter is in this situation. I will keep this thread in mind and keep an eye on what the kids are playing this year. Our teaching season starts in about a month. shinton0984
My boy, my avatar pic, is swinging the cobra kids set. When he was real little we used the Dick's top flite 3 pc set. We got the dicks set because it was cheap, after he decided he liked golf I let him choose when it was time to get the next size set between a Callaway, cobra, top flite, nike and a few of the sets mentioned above. Of course he picked the Rickie Fowler Cobra set which I don't mind(it was mid tier priced) he was excited to be able to choose and loves the color. But honestly at that age its just about letting them have fun whacking the ball around and getting them used to the feel of swinging a club. MDGolfHacker
I picked up a set of top flight from dicks. At the time it was the smallest lighted set they have. That was Christmas 2016. He's outgrown them of course but I had a friend who gave us a ping Jr. set so we'll see if he fits these this year. MDGolfHacker What's In This Lefty's Bag? GolfSpy MPR
I've actually built or modified all the clubs my five-year-old son plays. Most of the components I've bought from Diamond Tour: https://www.diamondtour.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=junior Knowing that kids are always going to outgrow their clubs, my goal is to put something useful into his hands that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg. Getting handy enough to assemble clubs is one way to do this for me. Kanoito
Update on this: got the US Kids set for my daughter. It's the 39" one. 1 FW, 1 iron and 1 putter in a carry bag for about $100 new. I think that's ok. And I got the red/black bag so she can pass it on to my son when he grows up. However, I noticed even though her height matches the set, it seems it's still too heavy for her. I'm guessing she just needs more practice. ChrisS
Got a set for my grandson when he turned 4, he is small for his age. Had the same trouble with swinging the club. I took an old shaft and cut it down and made a fitting for the end that I could add weight to gradually until he got strong enough to swing the fairway wood. I put a tee in the ground so it barely stuck and had him swing to hit the tee. Make a game of it to keep them interested and the swing strength will come quickly.
