HillWilliam
The Cleveland VAS irons were definitely the worst looking irons produced in my lifetime. Funny thing is, most people that played them thought they were decent performers. But that huge offset, the unfinished looking pewter/lead like finish, the tacky and plastic look graphics on the back of the club head. A club only a mother could love. ShortyGSA
Yep, Corey won the US Open with them. I actually have a set of the VAS+ that came right after those. I let my friends borrow them when they want to start up golf. Those ugly suckers are responsible for turning at least 5 of my friends into new golfers. I also take them out every once in awhile. V.A.S. Vibration Absorbing System! They actually still use it in irons now, just a tad more subtle.
bcgolf
For me personally, the new 2011 Callaway RAZR X Forged is right up there. Previous iterations weren't exactly classical beauties, but they were ok lookswise. Now they just really massacred a classic CB appearance ! SPY VIP Tony Covey MGS Posted October 1, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted October 1, 2010 My favorite things about this thread: One of my best friends plays those ugly SUMOs (with stock graphite shafts no less). Last year I played quite a few times with a guy (yes a guy) who bagged the VAS. The pictures don't come close to representing both the unbridled hideousness of these clubs, or the EPIC amount of offset. I don't think the clubface actually impacts the ball until the shaft has finished the follow through. MyGolfSpy is only major golf site that refuses advertising from large golf companies.
