With Tiger almost winning the Valspar, he seems to be getting back in the swing of things. No pun intended. He's highly favored this week, with eight wins under his belt here already. Do you think he can pull it off? If not, who do you think is taking the W this week?

Wouldn't be surprised to see Tiger regress just a little this week. Stressful week last; named Capt of President's Cup team today, and hasn't done this in a while. Plus, he's 42. Might be a little more worn out than even he realizes.

Time for Rickie to step it up this week. Dick Fowler, PI is my horse this week.

I'm with MGoBlue on this one. I think Tiger will fall back just a bit because of mental and physical wear and tear from last week. I'm guessing top 20 but not a true threat for the W on Sunday.

You know, watching golf these past several weeks has been VERY entertaining for me at least. Add in the "Tiger" factor and the excitement and hype just goes through the roof. I'm not a huge fan of TW, but have indeed respected his contribution to the game-it sure feels different when he's a factor, doesn't it??

These past couple of years on tour have been fascinating. There are actually guys coming up today that maybe could have given TW a run for his money back in the day, and they are all super exciting to watch. Having Phil win in Mexico was awesome, and now TW becoming everyone's favorite again has certainly created (in my view) a new resurgence for our little game. But these new guys are every bit as fun to watch with jaw-dropping awe as ever before.

To quote a former PGA TV promo; "These Guys Are Good!"

Damn right, and I wanna emulate just a smidge of their game in mine.

If only...

I'm thinking the opposite.  Tiger is pumped and will use that as a springboard for a win.  Self validation that he still has it to compete at the highest level.  He didn't look tired at the end of the tourney last week.

It will definitely show his poise. If he wins or has another Top 5 finish... watch out, the steam roller is on the loose.

If you look back, he's only missed 27 cuts.... that's not very many.

There's 2 threads for this, one in 19th hole, one in everything else. Can someone combine, and put it in Tour talk.

I just watched the “film” on the 1960 Masters. It's an hour-long old-time summary of the tournament showing round-by-round highlights. To see Sarazen tee off to open the tournament alongside others was very cool. Demaret, Finsterwald, Hogan, Venturi, Palmer, Casper, etc! Wow. The swings back then were VERY different than now, and all putting and chipping was done crouched WAY over and using the wrists!!! Augusta was WAY different as well. The 5th had a HUGE false front, then a huge lip along the back, and all of the traps on the course were small and shallow.

Really cool to watch!

While  it is highly unlikely, I think it would be great if Sam Saunders was to win his grandfather's tournament.   What story it could make as opposed to the same old, same old. It almost would be the kind of thing with which movies are made.

Driving the green on the par 5 sixth hole (350 yard carry across water)

This is pretty funny and worth it.

Would love to see someone have the onions to do this during the tourney...doubt anyone on tour right now could do it.  Not Rory, not DJ, not JT, NOBODY.
