I think the mental training part of the game is as critical as the physical (ball striking and conditioning). Welcome to the game. I think you'll discover it happens to us too just at our level. What separated Jack and Tiger from the next group down is that they could win when they had less than their A game. Both had ten year runs that are hard to imagine. Nicklaus only really cared about majors. He had ten years where he was rarely outside the top 3 in them. Check it out sometime - it's from the late 60's to the late 70's. We all know you hate him, it's fine no one said you have to like him. But you have to watch him now if you're tuned into any major and for Tiger, that's a win in itself.
