Talk to me about Exotics?

Ok so I just did a fitting here in Denver to look at some different shaft options.  My fitter led me down the path of a Hybrid 20* Exotics.  First time I had ever hit one and was really impressed.  That led me to try their 3wd offering as well.  Was equally impressed.  I decided to try the rogue as well and ended up getting exact same dispersion but a little longer in carry with Exotics.  I was in shock.  Literally have never hit an Exotics before and can't believe I hadn't now after hitting.

 

I didn't try the driver as the fitter said it was like a bomb going off.

 

So who has experience with Exotics and what is your feedback?

Hit exotics fairway woods a couple times and it can definitely hold its own against other brands. Still important to hit a things from a bunch of brands but they are definitely worth being included to find what is best for you.

I agree.  I have never really considered them probably bc they are not in my face with marketing.  Glad I tried them out.

Most known for their fairway woods but they offer solid clubs throughout the bag.  I have a 3 wood in my bag and when I went to Club Champion we didn't find anything that could beat it.

I have a TEE XCG6 13* 3 wood. It's a beast. It's basically a 2 wood. It's also difficult for me to control. I experiment with it from time to time, and when I'm swinging well, it's fun to have in the bag. A 15* probably would have made more sense, but I picked this up cheap from 3 Balls.

CB4 Tour 4 wood user here. Arguably the best non-putter club in my bag and probably my favorite club to hit. Can't recommend the Exotics line enough, Tour Edge is the bomb diggity.

Thanks for the replies.  Good to hear there is a solid following.  I was surprised though that the Rogue 4wd and the Exotics 4wd was the same price from the fitter.  I also hit their hybrid which I feel outperformed my current hybrid.

Cost for product new is always expensive. Exotics unfortunately doesn't hold value and can generally be picked up inexpensively on the used market. For example the XCG-7 beta in my bag cost me $50 used and as I mentioned was equal or better than what CC could offer.

It's wild to me that's the case because those club flat out perform, but then again I got mine on sale at RBG and have always looked at maybe going in for another.

Right I just look at the amount of marketing money spent by Tour Edge (commercials, app advertising, player sponsorship, etc. - all the reasons why we hear that large OEM's charge "X" for their product) and find it hard to believe that they are priced comparably to the newly released Callaway Rogue.  No doubt the Exotic performs but I was surprised it put itself at the same price point as a large OEM.  Either way it performs and if it works for the player, it works.  

 

I would bet their overall profitability is great on units sold.

I spent a lot of time in the Tour Edge booth at the show, getting the rundown on the Exotics and the Hot Launch lines.  The Exotics has some beautiful looking clubs that flat out perform.   Funny, I tired to get the rep to contact me after the show about us carrying some of it's product and they never followed up.

Went into my local shop today and they must have recently gotten a visit from the rep.  They had demo drivers, fairways, hybrids, and irons.  Also saw a few used exotics wedges.   

 

Didn't swing anything,  but they are nice looking clubs.

Probably just a lazy rep. If you like them that much I'd bypass the rep and go straight to the top.

I had a CB4 4 wood but screwed myself by putting an x stiff shaft into it. I've  personally had better experience with their fairway woods versus their drivers, but that's me. Definitely worth a look, especially on the pre-owned market

I play one of their 3 woods. I'll echo what some others have said; it's a great club with exceptional distance. Sometimes I wonder why I even keep a driver in the bag. Something I don't know if others have mentioned is the lifetime warranty.  One day I teed off with the 3 wood and it felt like a mishit, when I leaned over to pick up my tee and used the club to sort of balance myself the shaft broke off right at the hosel.  I was bummed, but when I went to the golf shop where I got it to get the shaft replaced, they told me about the lifetime warrantee and took care of it for free, and it wasn't a cheap shaft.
