Recommended Posts

Sean - Massachusetts

Clubs:

Taylormade R1 Driver – 10.5 degree – X-Stiff

Taylormade M2 3 Wood – stiff

Titleist 913H 21 degree hybrid – stiff

Mizuno MMC FLHHI 4 Iron – stiff

Mizuno MP-54 5-6 iron – stiff

Mizuno MP-4 7-PW – stiff

Titleist Vokey SM5 52-58-64 wedges

Cleveland Huntington Beach #4 – 35 inches

Handicap – 2.0

Goals – Become more consistent with my misses and scoring.  I was consistently shooting in the low 70s about 10 years ago, but didn't play a lot for a number of years while going back to school for my masters.  My goal last year was to play more and my game certainly helped from that, this year is consistency with my iron play and short game to eliminate the 80-83 rounds that creep in.  Knowing my distances and tendencies with this system could help with that.  I was actually looking at Arccos before seeing this contest.

3 Wood: Ping G 14.5 deg, Tour 80X
Hybrid: Ping G 18 deg, tour 90 stiff

Irons: Mizuno MP30 4-P, 1 degree upright, standard everything else.

Wedges: Ping Glide 2.0 - 50 SS, 54 SS, 58 SS - standard loft/lie

Putter: Mizuno BS by bettinardi

Handicap: 5-7, used to be +1.4 but kids will do that to ya.

Goals:

My goals for 2018 are to get back to consistently shooting 75 or less.  I'd like to get back some of the lost distance I've given up by not playing or practicing as much.  I used to practice 2-4 times per week and play at least 2 times per week. I got good enough to win local tournaments.  Now sometimes I'll shoot 79 and feel I got the most out of the round as I could.  I feel I've lost about 10 yards with my irons and about 20 with the driver.

I'm working on my flexibility and will build some strength back.  I would love to try some new irons and stuff because when I tested Ping I200 I was hitting the 7 iron about 15 yards longer than my own.  It felt way more forgiving vs what I'm using now.  Money is always tight and giveaways like this are probably my only hope in getting some newer irons.
