1. My name is Brendan. I live in California, Northern California.

2. I currently play Cobra King F6 Driver (cut to 43.5” prolaunch red stiff shaft, weight on the driver is 4g heavier than stock). 3 Wood is Cobra King F6 stock with Stiff shaft. Cobra King F7 hybrid at 20 degrees with stock Stiff shaft. Irons 4-PW are Titleist 718 T-mb all with KNS tour shafts. Gap Wedge is a Cleveland CBX 50 degree. Sand wedge and Lob Wedges are Callaway Mack Daddy 3 PM grind, 56 and 64 degrees respectively. My putter I use a Taylor Made Spider with 1g weights.

3. My current handicap is a 15.

4. My goals for the 2018 golf season are to improve my pour shots. A great shot for me and a PGA professional is the same, where I lose strokes is when I hit a pour shot. Simply put, I want to make my misses less harmful to my score. I know the easiest way for me to do this is to dial in my distances with each club. I'm constantly pulling out the wrong club for a relatively easy shot. Once I know my distances will come confidence and smarter play.

80 too maybe?)

Learn to be play to my strengths.

Gain better distance and control from

Play the same clubs without switching

and focus on improving not

Mike from Illinois

Currently I play a Ping G30 Driver, Adams XTD 15* FW, 18* Hybrid, 23* Hybrid.  Taylormade M1 4-PW, Cleveland RTX 2.0 50*, 56*, 60* wedges.   I use a Ping Sigma G Tyne putter.

My current handicap index is a 23.3.

I keep track of each round and shot using the Golf Pad GPS app.  Last season I played over 80 rounds, 20 of which were during league play. I finished with 12% pars, 30% bogeys, 29% doubles and 29% triples. I hit the fairway 33% of the time, and GIR 11% of the time.

My goals this year are: consistently break 90.  For 9 hole rounds I want to finish 45 or better.  I also want to eliminate triple bogey.

4. Goals for the 2018 golf season are to have my weekly winter lessons pay dividends!  Been practicing hard and figured out a lot about my swing.  Was planning to get custom fit soon, and kill it this season.  I mainly play two courses, one is tough (72.1/133 from blues) and one is a more straightforward 9 hole (70.0/120).  Goal is to break 90 on tough course, and break 40 on straightforward, with a couple fun trips in between (scoping a Bandon trip!).  Plan to get handicap into mid-low teens.  Up for some competition and watching my game improve!  Been a loyal MGS lurker and excited to contribute.

I fairly new to interacting in the forums and I'm obviously not as connected in the industry as many of you are but I figured why not post this here and see what everyone thinks. Now this may have been previously mentioned (If so apologize for the double post) but I was getting some question answered by someone at Arccos and they mentioned that they have a new sensor set coming that would essentially open up the availability of Cobra Connect to everyone and not just Cobra users. The set would presumably replace the 14 screw sensors with 13 grips with specialized sensors (likely the same one used by Cobra) and 1 putter screw. Wish I had more solid evidence than just a conversation to share with everyone but its still a really cool possibility that I hope becomes a reality.

This is the official thread for our first ever MyGolfspy/Cobra Connect Driver Challenge!  We have two teams who will spend the next month using their new Cobra F7 drivers equipped with Cobra Connect - an Arccos-driven driver shot tracking and stat-keeping sensor and app.
The teams will be competing for individual weekly prizes as well as an overall Team prize.
One contestant - the one who truly knocks it out of the park - will win a complete Cobra-PUMA makeover, including new clothes and shoes from PUMA as well as a full bag of custom-fit Cobra equipment.
      This should be fun!
And so let's meet our two groups -- Team Rickie and Team Lexi!
      Team Rickie:
      Team Lexi:
So here's how it's going to work - each week our contestants will post their stats from their Cobra Connect app. They'll be scored on the following categories from the app:
      1. Driving handicap
      2. Fairway accuracy
      3. Smart Distance
      4. Long drive
      5. Overall number of drives detected
In addition, our contestants will be active on Social Media and will be scored accordingly. They'll be using the hashtag #COBRACONNECTMGS
The competition officially starts this Friday. Each Thursday the contestants will post their stats and we'll announce the weekly winner on Friday - the weekly winner will earn some slick  PUMA apparel.
Now here's where it gets interesting!!!
Forum members who are not actually competing can win a weekly prize  courtesy of Cobra-PUMA as well by participating in the thread - comment, trash talk, questions and general good humor will serve you well.
Each contestant will kick off with a post letting you know a little about them, their game and what they're looking for from their new driver - sorta like the Miss America Pageant but with golfers.
      Let's get this party started!!!!

      The Cobra Connect Challenge
      Cobra F7 & F7+ Drivers!
Now don't touch the knobs 'cause I think we're going to have some fun with this one...
Everyone likes to test drivers, right? And throw a little competition into the mix? And prizes, including a boffo Grand Prize?
That beats a weekend in Vegas all day, every day and twice on Sundays!
Well we have what might be the Mother of all Competitions with...
      The Cobra Connect Challenge!

We're looking for 8 of you to test and keep a custom-built (to your specs!) Cobra F7 or F7+ driver - but that's not the fun part.
The Chosen 8 will take part in a month-and-a-half long competition using the unique Cobra Connect - the unique Arccos-fueled stat tracker built into the grip of every Cobra driver.

You'll be competing in teams and against each other in areas such as Driving Handicap, Smart Distance, Driving Accuracy, Fairways Hit, Longest Drive and Most Improvement.
You'll need have some social media skills, too - as prizes will be awarded based on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook interaction, as well.
Prizes include Cobra-PUMA hats, shirts, shoes and other swag - all leading up to one grand prize -
      A full COBRA-PUMA makeover!
That'll include apparel, shoes and a full bag of custom Cobra equipment - we're talking irons, wedges, hybrids and FW's (it won't include driver because, duh, you'll already have one. And it won't include putter, 'cause Cobra doesn't make one!).

As we said, this one's a biggie, so PLEASE follow these instructions to the letter.
      In this thread, tell us:
Your first name & home state or province
      Your current driver/shaft combo
Your driver swing speed and average distance
      Your Twitter/Facebook/Instagram names
Your Smart Phone type (iPhone or Android)

We'll announce the testers in this thread early next week. Good luck!!!
