Recommended Posts

Our Sponsors

I'm Don, from Illinois. Uh, hi.

2. Mizuno JPX 850 driver, Stiff; Callaway XR 15 deg. fwy, Reg; Mizuno JPX 850 hybrid, 19 Deg, Stiff; Mizuno MP-H5 3-4i, MP-25, 5-6-7i, MP-5 8-9-p, all Rifle 5.5; SCOR Wedges, rotate among 53, 56, and 59. Cleveland Mark VII putter.

3. My last update had me at a 5.5...

4. Your goals for the 2018 golf season: I had shoulder surgery from an injury in July. I had been at a point where I was seeing my game moving to a level where birdies started happening...and then I went over my handlebars and separated my collarbone. Yay. My goal is to get back to loving the game, playing as much as possible, and I think this could be the first season I shoot par...possibly even break it at a course or two I have already played. 2018 is a Year for Golf!

Good luck to all!

The Full Bag Edition

Please read this one carefully gang, as it's a BIGGIE!!! And it's more than just a club review - it's a season long experiment in golf improvement.

Welcome to MyGolfSpy's 2nd annual Cobra Connect Challenge - and we're making it bigger and better than ever. We're looking for FIVE of you to spend the rest of the golf season with a full bag - yes, a full bag - of Cobra's KING F8 gear equipped with the ARCCOS-powered Cobra Connect System.

We'll outfit you with a complete set of Cobra F8's, from driver, fairway and hybrids to irons and wedges - all customized to your specs - as well as MyGolfSpy's newly crowned Most Wanted Stand Bag, the Cobra Ultralight. Your job? Spend the season with your Cobra gear and use the Cobra Connect system to analyze your game, focus your practice and see how much you can improve.

attachicon.gifCobra-F8-16.jpg

Year Long Competition

Our 5 testers will spend the season competing against each other for some great prizes provided by Cobra-Puma, and all you have to do is what you'd do anyway - play golf and work to shoot lower scores.

To start, Cobra will send you a full ARCCOS 360 set for use with your current gamers. You'll spend a month setting a performance baseline, and once you get your new Cobra gear, you'll spend the rest of the year playing, tracking your data and discussing your journey here in the MyGolfSpy Forum and on Social Media.

This is gonna be, as they say, a hoot!

Since I am retiring the end of May, I will have time to play, practice, second guess equipment and reduce my handicap to at least a 3, which is one stroke lower than my previous low of 4.  I have not had time to practice the last several seasons, but that all changes for 2018.  I will also have plenty of time to keep everyone informed of my progress even if that means another social media account.  I definitely appreciate data, I am a retiring IT professional.

Keep up the great work done at MyGolfSpy!

Hi - first time poster but longtime lurker. Very appreciative for this opportunity!

1. Chase from Chicago, IL

2. Ping G30 Driver, Ping G30 3-wood, Ping G 3H, Taylormade R7 4-PW with graphite shafts, Cleveland RTX wedges 52/56, and Odyssey White Hot 2 ball putter

3. 12.9 handicap

4. I'm new to the game - received a hand-me-down set of clubs last April and have updated the woods since then. I logged 62 rounds of golf last year, probably that many range sessions, and a 10 pack of lessons. I plan to put in the same effort this year. Major goals are to eliminate my common miss (hook / pull left) with irons, gain consistency with the driver (currently miss both right and left), and build confidence with the 3W and 3H. I have set a target handicap of 8 for the year and will end up swinging a club 3 - 4 days per week for the majority of the spring and summer. I am a data dork both professionally and personally so logged all my shots last year with the Golfpad app.

Thanks again for the opportunity!

-Chase
