Check out the thread on “What ball do you play?” Many of the questions you ask are answered in that thread. Thanks for your review! I love the TP5X and I get them for $29 a dozen- can't be beat!!!

Ive been playing the ball exclusively for over a year now, they fly a little higher than Prov1 and X  but with less spin. with less spin less movement in windier conditions, they track nice.

The biggest difference is irons 6,7, 8 and 9 they fly higher, further and with less spin. The practically come down straight. On par 3s I often find the green ball mark just a few feet away from the ball.

You don't need a trackman to see  the apex of the shot is higher. Of course if you are jumping around from brand to brand, model to model you won't know what I speak of.  BTW if you want to get to that next level of golf, you need to stay with the same model ball all year. Your scoring clubs will dictate this. Your driver not so much.

speaking of trackman the difference from a Prov1 and a Prov1 X

Snell: even Dean Snell will attest to the fact that premium balls have very little in common off the driver most will all be within 3-4 yards most will spin close to each, including a pinnicle that has been soaking in a pond for 6 months, however around the green from 140 yards in is where things separate out.

TP5X is the only 5 piece ball on the market and especially good on those irons shots, High launch with low spin...You need far less spin when the ball goes higher.  Less spin more control with the TP5x. Something titlist will never tell you. The proV1 has been getting softer and softer each year...its also sacrificing distance, but they won't tell you that.

Just ask Sergio on number 15 at Augusta, lots of spin on the chomesoft as in too much spin, same pin location different year look at the replay on 15 when he played with Rose  and his TPX5 in virtually the same conditions. The ball hit and stopped within a foot or two, it was coming straight down.

My assessment the best ball on the market, you will have to recalculate your iron distances as mention above. My trackman has me 7-13 yards longer in my irons. What makes this significant is my driver club head speed is 94-98 MPH. I like being able to hit 8 iron rather than a 7 iron into a firm green.

Try em, but watch what they do with irons not drivers. .

I love the feel of this ball especially around the green. Some of my buddies have complained about the ball splitting on them out of the bunker. Anyone else have this issue? I personally have not seen it.

Nice analysis. I just picked up a mix of 5 and X - They are bush balls, all in great condition. 3 dozen for $30! Even if there are some duds in there.... the price can't be beat!

What's the verdict? :)

I really really liked the TP5. Ive always been an X ball player. Lower spin and lower ballflight worked well for me. My SS is 105-110 and I have a very steep angle of attack.

The TP5 was not a wildly spinning, ballooning ball. I felt like the X did exactly as advertised but the TP5 straddled that difference enough for me where I actually preferred the higher spin.

TM did very well.
