Ping 9 irons...3 dots on sole

Has anyone noticed 3 dots under the "9" on Ping 9 irons?

 

Any significance other than it helps you differentiate from the 6 iron?

No that I know of. Always noticed lines for other brands they do the dots to differentiate.

I have the dots on my Ping 9 iron as well. Figured it was there to differentiate it from the 6 when your look down on your bag
