zdsmith87
Hi Guys, Second season golfing, I've taken a couple of lessons, but I'm sure like most of you I want to get the most out of the range when I go. I know there are 100's of training aids out there, and the one I'm the most interested in is the Eyeline Speed Trap. Does anyone have any experience with this? Don't want to go off reviews on the Eyelin website. Thanks.
tony@CIC
Are you referring to the eyeline mirror for putting? If so I have one and have used it over the winter to straighten out golf ball path in putting. I have also used the metal 3' ruler as well as tape laid on my basement putting mat. Not sure which one helped fix my putting but the latter 2 were certainly a lot cheaper. lamorak24
Hey, I bought one this winter. I think its been great in helping me make ball first contact. Indoors, you can get away with hitting the mat first, but this helps prevent that. You can also use a towel or a headcover for the same thing though. The poles that it has are interesting, I am working on hitting a draw, so I use the front left and back right post for that. I don't typically use the front right because it blocks the view from the GC2 at the indoor range I use. They do fly off if you hit them solid, so its fine in a hitting bay, but I'd be apprehensive using them outdoors. Also, I have only used this with irons and hybrids, I haven't tried hitting and drivers with it yet. cnosil
My question would be about what you are trying to accomplish. As the previous poster pointed out a towel would work to indicate hitting behind the ball. Headcovers, cardboard boxers or tees might help you with path.
