Broken M2 D Type

Good Evening.

 

This is my first post, so please be gentle.

 

My problem is that I managed somehow to break loose the carbon fiber cap on my M2 D Type. I can't say how it happened, but the cap isn't cracked or split, it just came apart at the seam around the top of the head.

 

I bought the head used, so a warranty return isn't possible. 

 

Any ideas on what glue to use to secure it? From what I can see, what was used isn't very substantial.

 

I appreciate any feedback.

Greg - Regardless if you bought it used, it sounds like it's a defect in the head.  As others have said, contact TaylorMade and I'm guessing they will repair or replace with a newer head.  Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, guys. After reading their warranty policy, I didn't see the point in calling them, but I think you all may right.

All they can do is tell me to take a flyin' Leap at the moon, right? And it isn't like I've never heard that before.

Well I'm back with an update.

 

Thanks to you guys encouraging me to give Taylormade a call, I will be receiving a new clubhead direct from TM. 

I have to admit I'm surprised, shocked actually. Last thing in the world I expected.

Even after I told "Tom" I had bought it used he insisted that TM would replace it. 

Can't beat that kind of customer service.

Tom didn't mention which head they're sending. I'll assume it is another D-Type and hope it's an M4. I'm happy either way.

Since getting back into golf a few years back the customer service provided by the major manufactures has been very surprising.  There are not many companies that would replace a product purchased on eBay with no questions asked.  

 

Glad you are getting a new clubhead!

I can speak for most of the big manufactures out there, as I worked for the one of the largest golf retailers out there, they do actually care and most of the time take care of their customers. Unless the damage is obvious that it was abuse. If the equipment is a couple years old the TM's and Callaway's of the world will work with you especially if its a defect like adhesive letting loose.  Don't let retailers make you believe that you need new equipment, odds are if you call the vendor your self they will have you take your stuff into a retailer to be send out. Good for you on getting a new driver head.
