bens197
As the club lengthens, it becomes more upright, and vice-versa. I was once 2* up and + 1â€. Has changed with my swing changes so my last set was standard length and lie. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro I can definitely see the evolution of swing for all golfers. It's fun watching Els, Lehman et al as they get older. As I get older and less flexible I can only imagine where I'm headed. Cbk57
Hogan Iron's were what I lusted after when I started in golf as a teen. I remember the Hogan Edge Apex clubs which were basically my dream club. I found the Ben Hogan clubs and website recently and really love the look of them. The blog featured today the new Hogan Edge Irons. Will be following your review closely. I am still using my Hogan Radials from the 1980's. I read a great older article on this site discussing cast vs. forged. I would agree with the conclusions of that article as to performance, however for me there is a more emotional connection to the feel of a forged club. I like feeling in my finger tips where my club face struck the ball. I don't have to see the ball fly to know if I made good contact, I know without looking. If the shot feels good it then is only a matter of whether it is going where intended. Rickp
I am offering this as a courtesy out of the enthusiasm I have for my first set of irons in a long time. If this is the wrong forum or page please let me know. I received my order this afternoon after contemplating what I should purchase for this year. I've been using the same i5 irons for the past thirteen years and really do love those clubs. It became an issue for me that I felt as if I was falling behind in technology. Now before anyone rolls their eyes and says wait a second, these are blades, what technology? I've been impressed with the sole design of today and the quality of Hogan products from yesteryear. Combining these with KBS shafts that didn't even exist when I used to be active in golf and for me, this is new. I went with the 23-47* option. A few reasons. I feel more comfortable replacing my longer irons with a Fli-Hi style iron and I am more of a throwback. I am used to a higher degree PW; I used a 48* 962B for years. The box was unassuming and upon opening I was not let down. I don't know if anyone else is like me but the most important eye pleaser is how the PW looks at address. I want to see a clean transition from hosel to top line. Every photo I have seen from reviews and the website showed a chunker. I really didn't know what to expect so to say I am pleased is an understatement. It resembled a 718mb or an MP18 in the shorter irons. Resembled, not imitated. My specs are 2* up and +1/2. I am 6'2†and hit my PW 135. I went with a stiff, I don't nuke my irons and I'm not getting any younger. First impression. A wonderfully balanced and heavy feel. I can feel the head throughout the swing and would guess that they're around a D4. I haven't put them on the swing weight yet but I'll follow up. Hogan recently went with a newer grip that is also offered in a midsize. It feels nice in my hand. Softer resonance than I had expected. I prefer the Tour Wrap midsize and I'll eventually swap them out. They're soft but just not in my wheelhouse. I also went with a TK 59 that is also included in photos. Clean compact head and forged to boot. This will join the clubs with a 52* equalizer on order. I wanted a 51* TK but they're sold out for now. I'll post some info on the equalized when it arrives. Not much else to say without hitting them. All I can say is that this from the first impression looks as good if not better than anything I've seen so far. I am very pleased and so is Darwin Best to all, play well! fozcycle
Nicely done.......I have the Ptx Hogans. They are currently in my closet as I reverted back to my Cobra F6's after 5 months of trying to hit them. Not the clubs, just me. Decided to game the Cobras again until I lost about 35 lbs, currently down 11. These were reviewed in 2016 I believe. You may want to access the reviews.
