Joyzee10
Fitting was completed earlier today. Wasn't what I would call a professional fit but it got the job done. I had the help of @golfspymbp so that was a huge bonus. I haven't submitted the full bag yet – Deciding on wedges – But here's what I can tell you thus far. I am not a super golf tech spec guy so I apologize in advance if I screw something up or can't respond properly! *Specs listed bottom of post. *The test balls today were the kind of balls I would leave where I found them if I came across em on the course if you catch my drift… Irons: Started hitting an F8 7iron with the Dynamic Gold S300. Didn't start out great TBH. Maybe it was the fact I got out of the car, swung a few practice shots and then got into it?! Anyways, I hit the odd good one and then started to warm up. Anything straight was good, anything I cut would actually fly a little further but anything I closed over on with a draw, would drop out of the sky like a rock. So, we made the switch to the X100 DG and there ya go. Boom. Everything changed. Picked up about 10 yards overall and anything I put a draw on was stupid long. Poked a couple out over 200. 29.5 loft will help there though! 3 Wood: Had some early struggles hitting the F8+. Original set up was only with a Tensei 50 Stiff and I was hitting some SERIOUS low draws. Couldn't get the hang of it. Went up to the 60 and didn't see a huge amount of change. No F8 head on site so I didn't really have much choice but to keep plugging away. Got a little frustrated because when I grabbed my 3 wood and banged out 3 in a row at about 265/270 carry and then couldn't hit this for squat… So, I took a break and moved onto the big dog. Driver: Same scenario as the 3 wood. Started out with the Couldn't get it going. Slight difference here was I was pushing them right with biggggg swooping draw that would come back to middle. Numbers were still good but not how I want to hit them. Same as the 3 wood too, started with the 50 then the 60. Moved onto the F8 and all I could manage with it was to hit it high with huge spin. Enter @golfspymbp – “oh they have hzrdus yellow – you HAVE to try this!†So while I got the F8+ set up and ready to hit Dan wondered off and didn't see the first drive…. BOOM! Holy snappin turtle sh!t…… I turned around and said “ummmm.. yeah I think we have our combo†Hit 5 reeeeeally nice drives. The shot below is 5 before and 5 after changing the shaft (Note that the 2nd last drive I really laid off it and went for a slower, smoother swing) Picked up avg swing speed by 5.2 Mph – 109.3 to 114.5 Ball speed went from 158.6 to 165.5 Consistently over 300 – Longest 326 One of the 5 hzrdus shots did balloon a little and had a near 3000 spin but still got out there. The 5 swings before you can see that I was struggling. Spin rate was all over the place, speed, distances... everything! I can not wait to get that bad boy out on the course! Lucky last…. 3 Hybrid: Had 2 swings with this. That's all I needed. Carried 230/235 and rolled out to 250. 17* Rogue Pro 75g Stiff I'll take it!! I'll take em all!! This is what I will be gaming (so far) for the challenge; Driver: F8+ 8-11* 76g Hzrdus Yellow Stiff 6.0 3 wood: Same as Driver Hybrid: F8 3 Hybrid 17* Irons: F8 4-GW Dynamic Gold x100 Wedges – TBD What's In The Bag? It's something you can get used to. I used to think the same way until I played a few rounds away from home that were cart path only. Using my phone for GPS, I'd have to take it out with me across the fairway plus a few clubs. After getting the yardage, I'd stash it in my pocket and hit the shot. Before I knew it, I just had the phone in my pocket for all shots and it didn't affect me one bit. As long as you're not wearing your tight pants, it's no problem. MDGolfHacker
MD, is your Nike one of the Counterflex models or does it just have a Counterbalance grip from SuperStroke Bergtaur: I have the Nike Method Matter M5-10 CounterFlex Putter that i've been using for the last year. It has a hex screw at the base of the grip that connects to a movable weight that adjusts up and down within the shaft. I found a level of comfort on the course and not having a rectangle in my pocket helps get me there. Not riding in a cart goes a long way too. fozcycle
Found this on Arccos site..... Where should my phone be while I'm playing? Your phone needs to be in your front pocket during your round (Android users should keep it in your front leading pocket i.e., left front pocket if you are a righty). Arccos employs the GPS capabilities of your iPhone to know where you are and where you're hitting your shots from. Our 2nd generation 360 sensors also use the microphone in the phone for shot detection. Without the phone in your front pocket, the Arccos app will not work. For players who do not like to play with a phone in their pocket, our best suggestion is to use a belt clip. IMG_E3383.JPG Lucky last…. 3 Hybrid: Had 2 swings with this. That's all I needed. Carried 230/235 and rolled out to 250. 17* Rogue Pro 75g Stiff I'll take it!! I'll take em all!! This is what I will be gaming (so far) for the challenge; Driver: F8+ 8-11* 76g Hzrdus Yellow Stiff 6.0 3 wood: Same as Driver Hybrid: F8 3 Hybrid 17* Irons: F8 4-GW Dynamic Gold x100 Wedges – TBD IMG_3368.JPG Uh...don't expect those type of numbers from me Glad you got fitted! MDGolfHacker
I've been using GolfPad GPS for a while now, but I've been keeping the phone in my back pocket until now. Friday was my first round with a phone in the front left pocket. It wasn't too bad, actually. From what I've been reading about Arccos, it doesn't sound like it gets along with Android very well, so I may want to switch to an iPhone. Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk Gosh I hope not...die hard android user here. I'll have to see how it stacks up. Will research it more. MDGolfHacker What's In This Lefty's Bag? MDGolfHacker
Hey, does anyone know if arccos has an I watch interface? If so that would solve the issue. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy Foz: Per Arccos - "https://www.arccosgolf.com/blogs/community/42115460-arccos-for-apple-watch-four-key-features" Also, Arccos 360 is available for the following types of devices: iPhone 5 and above, running iOS 10 or 11 Android phones with a gyroscope running Marshmallow 6.0 and up. A gyroscope and accelerometer is also required. Note, only Android devices with a gyroscope running Marshmallow or newer will see the Arccos 360 app available for download in the Google Play app store. Visit our support article for more information on finding and downloading the Arccos 360 app MDGolfHacker What's In This Lefty's Bag? Wedgie
Hopefully this helps you guys. I have and use Arccos and I hate having my phone in my pocket since it vibrates with calls and emails all day. To solve the problem I purchased a refurbished iPhone SE, the smallest they make, on eBay for around $100. Got it and it looks brand new. Anyway, I ordered it with no carrier. IE no phone service. Went to Best Buy and told them what it was for and they gave me a SIM card for free and installed it. You will need this to proceed in the phone setup. Once setup is done connect to WiFi, download the Arcoss app and any courses you want to play and you are done. Get to the course, hit search and press the downloaded course and play and you are done. No phone calls, no emails and the phone is really small. There is a drawback however, you cannot use the caddie feature for wind updates. It needs current data for that and without an internet connection which you most likely can't get on the course. At this point I don't even know the phone is there, don't care if it gets banged around and GPS still works and all data is tracked. Wedgie
So it stores the tracked data until you get somewhere with wireless, then uploads it? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk Yes, once you get to WiFi it uploads the data to the Arccos dashboard. You can still edit shots on the course and whatever else you need to do.
