McaseyM 1,693
It's not. If you'll remember from the original pool announcement, rankings in the pool are determined by purse payout dollars. You can find the total purse breakdown here: https://thegolfnewsnet.com/golfnewsnetteam/2018/03/18/2018-masters-purse-winners-share-prize-money-payout-108817/amp/ Then ties are split between all the positions tied with. For example, Finau and Kuchar are tied for 2nd. They occupy the 2nd and 3rd position on the leaderboard which pay out at $1,188,000 and $748,000 respectively. The tie splits that money paying each player 968,000.........and so on down the leaderboard. Sent from carrier pigeon using MyGolfSpy Wait, you mean I had to read....like all of it??? Welp.... Maybe get rid of the under armour sponsor, and the ATT bag, and put him in a Criquet shirt, some wing tips, and a jones golf bag.... and a permanent mute feature on my TV then... I'd probably like him. A few years ago I wanted him to win everything. I would have much rather him win the 16 than handing Danny willet a jacket... but now my man Tiger is back, and anything standing in his way irritates me.

revkev 22,127
This tournament is about keeping your ball in position from tee to green. The guy who controls his irons and keeps them under the hole often wins. That's why Spieth does well there. He's a great iron player. I had a friend, God rest his soul, who was a member at Augusta, he played there a number of times - 2 or 3 times a year for 10 years or so. He would always say it was better to be 150 in the right spot than 15 feet in the wrong spot and that's under “normal†conditions. Sadly he was no longer a member when I knew him. He gave up his membership when he took a golden parachute from work and went to Seminary. At that time he had played 76 of the top 100 courses in the world. Great guy, was always very kind to me, took me to several great courses in the Midwest to play including Murfield Village. My favorite story was about his playing the Murfield. He went out in 37 and then turned back into the wind. Shot a smooth 50 on the back. To Wayne (he says, holding his scotch and downing it before going to bed). TSauer 4,085
There are only two pros I'd rather not see win, I'm happy for any of the others win they win. Sergio is my least favorite touring pro, but I even felt bad for him. In 53 years playing golf, I've never seen anyone, even the worst duffer, who's ever put more than 2-3 balls in the same water hazard, more than one consecutive has been rare IME. Augusta is way hard, but 5 times for a big name pro. How? What Sergio did on his sixth try is what normal players do on their second try... 00sportsman 2,167
I'm sure you all know more about the game and the hole than me but after the second didn't stick, wouldn't it be time to try something different? Maybe stick it in the bunker so it doesn't run off the green again? I'm not sure how tight things are with patrons and so forth, but there's got to be someplace to land that where you don't have anywhere near the risk of it backing up off the green. I'm legitimately asking the question, why? 2 I always try to remember that I'm not good enough to get mad!
