goaliewales14
I was curious if anyone had any recommendations on a good hitting mat that I could use off my deck to hit into the backyard. I'd be using it for chipping and full swings. I'd be using it for chipping and full swings. I have a “Range to Go†hitting mat. Three different surfaces to hit from. Folds up to store, very portable and doesn't seem to move around much when hitting. Use it in the yard so I'm not taking chunks out of the lawn. A lot of ranges will sell their old mats for a great price and these are obviously high end mats. Worth a try. fraasty
Country club elite hitting mat you can get a strip instead of the whole mat and it is a lot cheaper around $50 on Amazon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk mooremikea

geez2323
I bought some high end putting green artificial grass on OfferUp for $50. A nice 5x7 piece. Super cushioned and works fantastic. Would cost $250 - $300 to buy a similar sized mat in eBay. They usually have left over scrap from the install and try to make a few bucks on the left over pieces. I am supper happy with it. Just a idea. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy goaliewales14 and juspoole
MattF
I have a strip from All Turf Mats that I put into a hitting platform that I built. It allows you to put a tee into it like normal grass and you can hit down onto the ball. A bit pricey but well worth it. TSauer
I bought the Real Feel hitting strip from Amazon and plan on buying a cheaper hitting mat and cutting a section out and dropping the strip in there. That way you still get the Real Feel quality without the huge price tag. goaliewales14 and MattF 2 Quote Driver: Aerojet 9* | Hzrdus Black Gen 4 Fairway: G410 3W 13* | Alta CB 65 Hybrid: TS2 18* | Tensei AV Blue 70 S Hybrid: iCrossover 20* | Kai'li White 80 Irons: P790 5-PW | DG S300 Wedges: Vokey SM9 | 52, 56, 60 | DG S200 Putter: Link.1 | Accra x LAB --- LAB Golf Link.1 Review ---

goaliewales14
I just called my local range and they have one that I'm going to go get tomorrow! It seemed like most ranges are more than willing to talk with you and the beginning and end of the seasons based on some of the conversations I had. Thank you for the help everyone! Peanut05
Now that I think of it, the course I use to manage has some nice 5x5 mats that I bought when I was there about 3-4 years ago. The last time I saw them they were in really good shape, but they didn't use them this past winter. I wonder what they are planning on doing with those. I may try to pick one or two up this afternoon. Gaius
For a Golf hitting mat for backyard, you must have a look at this brand. I got this mat at 27 bucks. It is portable size and lightweight to take out. It actually moves a little be when I swing, the mat is designed with a stiff rubber base though... Not a 100% perfect mat but it did the job, it also comes with 9 Ts in different size, bonus! Quote No pain no gain
