Berg Ryman
So, I've been catching up and watching the shows in the myriad of replays Golf Channel has in the early part of the week. I just feel as if you're going to have a show called Shotmakers, maybe you can want to have some folks who can make some $%&@ing shots! I did a quick bit of research on the size of those targets there at Top Golf and best I can find, those targets are 25 yards wide. Quick calculation shows that the area is 4,418 sq feet, rounded up. Average green size on the PGA Tour is 6,000 and I have to think most local courses are closer to the 2500-3000 sq ft range. I hate to say it, if you're going to tell me these folks are shotmakers, they better be able to hit a target of that size from 90 and 125 yards. The show sucks. NCST8golf
Ugghhh. Against my better judgement (and the advice of many here), I tuned in last night. So bad. TopGolf is better suited for beers with friends than a legitimate tv show meant to showcase golfer skill. What was wrong with Big Break? I don't know the ratings numbers, but I watched every episode. It was my go to DVR material (prior to four daughters who have since filled it up with all manner of Disney princess movies). I found Big Break was, the majority of the time, an interesting test of shotmaking in a variety of formats. If it ain't broke... AH1980MN
I just can't stand reality shows- and the production here seems more like that than a competition show. There is a TopGolf facility about 5 miles from my house opening soon. This show makes me not want to go to TopGolf. downlowkey
Well guys, after 6 weeks of regular season play, Team Short & Crooked (downlowkey & my buddy - Dave) have managed to earn the #1 seed in the TopGolf 2-person team playoff bracket. 4 seeded matches (each a single game / single elimination) over the next 2 weeks will determine the Spring league championship and who moves on to the regional tournament (precursor to Las Vegas primetime lowlights). League champs receive free entry into the next (Fall) seasonal league, chunky medals and a berth in the regional tourney. I'll try to post match updates throughout tonight's session (7-9pm MST). If we end up winning the Spring championship, I'm changing our name to Team MyGolfSpy for the Fall session. ______S9-1 Pro D - Matrix Ozik XCON 6 S ______S9-1 Pro 15* - Matrix Ozik XCON 7 S ________3DX 17* - Matrix Ozik Altus Hybrid SG ______ICON Black 4-PW - KBS Tour V S __________588 RTG 49 RTX 52.10 56.12 - DG S400 ______Amazing Grace NYC Tour CS _______'19 TP5X (the preceding have all been gamer approved) "The most important shot in golf is the next one“ - Ben Hogan

downlowkey
Team Short & Crooked dominated both playoff matches last night, so we are heading to the final 4 next week. 2 more wins will give us the Spring championship... and all the money, fame, groupies, etc. such a lofty designation entails. We had a shot of Maker's in celebration of moving one step closer to Shotmakers... or perhaps merely to help quell the rising dread of actually being compelled to appear on that awful program. More dumb (and hopefully celebratory) posts on the subject to come next Tuesday.
