The most interesting club in your bag

Recommended Posts

I am going to say not just one club, but the set I got when I was 12yo and I still have and still take the iron out occasionally. They are Titleist Lite 100s, I won't hit the woods cause they are still descent and I am afraid what I would do to them now.

Fairway - :cobra-small:Cobra F6 3/4 and 7/8 both R-flex
Irons - Tour Edge Exotics E8 Steel R-flex 4-PW
Wedges - :cleveland-small:Cleveland CBX 50 and 54, and Smart Sole 3 58

Irons - :taylormade-small:Taylor Made Burner Oversize 3-PW, lightly used 3 and 4 still in original plastic(auction buy $15 w/bag and several other clubs)

Wedges - Snake Eyes 52 & 56 and Dunlop True Tech Lob 64

My original set approximately 43 years old and I occasionally take the irons out for a swing

Most interesting club in my bag would have to be my 46 degree titleist vokey sm4 wedge. I ditched the pw in hopes for greater accuracy. So far no complaints

Adams Speedline 4G ultralite driver stiff shaft

Taylormade SLDR driver extra stiff shaft

Ping G20 3 wood stiff shaft

Adams redline 3&4 hybrids stiff shaft

Adams redline 5-PW stiff shaft

Titleist Vokey sm5 wedges 52, 56, 60

Just by any chance do you keep this in the kitchen when it's not in your bag?

It actually stays beside the bed to both ward off would-be burglars and as a prop when asking the ladies if they've ever been given the Aunt Jemima treatment.

Psssst. .... that's hybrid. ;)

It's an ironwood, which is a cross between an iron and a hybrid. The clubface is closer to an iron.

For me it's not necessarily a club but "clubs". My whole iron set to be more specific. While there is nothing particularly odd or different about them, it's the brand and appearance that gets quite a lot of attention. I play the Maltby DBM forged irons. Maltby's a brand that "you don't know about it unless you know about it". I haven't played a round yet where somebody doesn't ask or make comments about them and they play just as fantastically as they look. 3h + 4 - GW.

This is my hybrid and 4 iron.

Probably my cobra baffler 4-5 wood. It's the short shaft one they came out with a few years ago. I love it and MattF can attest that I kill it. Gonna get a better fitted shaft for it soon but I don't think it's leaving the bag anytime soon

I like this thread a lot.

For me it's not a club so much as I've never carried more than 13 clubs. I carried 11-12 in college depending on the course.

Driver, 3, 3-p, 52, 59 and a putter. That's enough and keeps things less complicated!

Clubs that are rare, custom, and unique are usually the most 'interesting', especially when they perform extremely well!... B)

Such is the case with my TaylorMade Rescue Fairway 'Strong-3' with 42.75" Fuji Vista Pro 90 graphite shaft.  (Reshafted from the original TM stock steel shaft).  It's actually a combination of a hybrid and a fairway wood, which also makes it quite 'unique'.  It's kind of like a Rescue-Mid Hybrid on steroids!  (As you can see below, it looks like a blown up Rescue-Mid due to it's larger, Fairway Wood-sized head).

I find it so very easy to hit, even from difficult lies in the rough or a fairway bunker...in fact, it just may well be the easiest-to-hit 3-Wood ever!

RESCUEFAIRWAY.jpg

Note:  The stock Rescue Fairway 3W is shown in pic above, (not the more rare 'Strong-3', but aside from the loft variable they look the same).

Scratch 16° Don White 1 iron.

On windy days to replace 3 wood.

220 carry ( I am old - that's all I got).

Other than that - 60° Mizuno wedge with 5° bounce - which I shaved down. For sand traps w/o sand ...IMG_20180513_163827.jpg

Use to carry a v-series heavenwood w/ an Aldila NV. Tried to use it as my “Henrik” club. But alas it spun to much, and discovered my g30 hybrid.

But could hit that v-series ultra straight and even hit a few bump and runs leading to tap-ins.
