With Driver I would prefer left, if it is a right dogleg, I will use 3 wood, it is easier to turn the 3 wood than it is to turn the Driver. Although I have been known to pull hook the crap out of my driver, and every other club in thebag at some point

What's the one club that you want to try or play that you can't because it's only available in RH?

For me it's the Cobra Utility iron. Either the new one or old one. Always liked the look of it and think it would fit great in my bag... But alas it's only available in RH. Please cobra next year? Please!

Putters cost a lot of $$ and don't move that well so lots of inventory dollars. Gloves high markup and will move quicker than big bucks putters. Not as costly to inventory.

Interesting you say that because at this GG most of the putters  be it right or left are the same brand/model. So maybe a special deal from that manufacturer?

I've never been in a GG, don't know where one is.

I went looking for LH Wilson Staff LH 300 irons, nope. Plenty of RH but not a sniff of LH.

It's normal not to find LH stuff at most places. It's about money. Which is sad, but that's what it is. I don't think that GG or any box store needs to keep a huge inventory of LH putters, but if they were to have 1 maybe 2 of certain OEM's they would sell, and probably very quickly. I mean they have 42 different models from titleist, 20 from Ping, 35 from Odyssey, and then in the Lefty section they 3 putters 1 TM, 1 used Odyssey, and 1 Wilson. How about you take some of the dollars from the plethora of RH putters and put a few LH models. They will sell, probably pretty quick to.

I usually buy from the internet, what's the point of spending time in a store they doesn't want you to buy from them. They offer very little and say they love Lefties we provide them equipment, hogwash. Kind of like the answer we got for BHG. Bull hockey, if you want to show love to us Lefties they give us the same stuff.

Well said! GG doesn't cater to us - but Dicks (their parent co) is even worse for us.

It's strange, but I have had more success finding left handed clubs at a local store here in Metro-Detroit.

Granted, it is a huge golf specific shop, (can feel like GG) but there are only two locations and both are in Metro-Detroit.

Huge left handed only section with new and used selections across multiple price ranges. I am fortunate, because GG and other “national” shops are pretty crappy to lefties.

Do you lefties prefer dog legs right or dog legs left?

When I began playing, I preferred the dog leg left. Lately though it's been the dog leg right as I've gone from a fade/slice to a draw/hook.

Utility iron; not the driver irons!!!! Looking at improvement on 5 iron. I know (or am sure it's ego) vice proper swing and club selection. Looking to see if any lefty has had success with any of the new utility irons. #5(24-26) degree mainly. My bag:

Titleist Driver-Wedge. 915h1 2hy set 18*. 3hy set 21*. 5 iron consistent. 165-180. But was thinking the Srixon U45/U65 irons; among others, MP MMC flu hi, ping crossover. Being lefty and a traditionalist. Makes it hard to find them all to demo at Golf Galaxy, Dicks, or Golf courses here In Austin Texas. Thank you in advance. Apologies for War and Peace thread.

I had another opportunity last weekend to hit a RH shot from next to a tree. I had 130ish yards, I flipped over my 8 iron, hit it a bit heavy, on line just came up about 10 yards short, chipped to about 8 feet and made the putt for par. I love making par that way.

Robertana, I used to struggle with the exact same issue and still tend to see it pop up again ESPECIALLY early in the round or if I am getting tired(unfocused).  I tried going the YouTube route and figuring it out in the beginning (I was too arrogant to take lessons)----which worked for a while and then my swing got worse but I didn't understand why.

The best advice I can give comes from personal experience all within the past year.  Please, do yourself a favor and go see a professional instructor, preferably with video/recording capabilities.   Everyone swings a club differently and there are multiple causes for a slice.  A swing flaw cannot accurately be diagnosed without seeing the swing and then there are different methods (opinions) for "fixing" what is wrong. Professional instruction has been the best for my game, and being able to see what I am doing on a video monitor while being corrected has helped me learn why the swing corrections are working.

If you must rely on YouTube start off with this one series:  Rick is not left handed so we make due with what we have available.

I say this again because it is the BEST way to fix a swing and that is go find an instructor and take lessons.

Agree with with this post. As soon as I feel I'm going “sideways” I go to a Teaching Pro. Saves me a great deal of angst. I know I'll never be really good but I do want to play as well as I can. See your local PGA Professional.

It seems as though a slice off the tee is the price you have to pay for playing from the right side of the ball. It's a real common ailment for lefties, as far as I can tell.

On a different note, I went into the pro shop at the course I was going to play today, and there were a bunch of left handed clubs. I commented on them to my buddy, the member, and he told me the pro is a lefty. Looks like I've found someplace to try to get some lessons.

Funny enough, I was on a cruise ship and they had a golf simulator with a PGA pro on board. Guess what... He was a lefty! So I took two lessons while onboard (short game chopping and iron swings). Kind of hard to practice chipping when the boat was a rockin', lol. I forgot his name but he's the only pro I've come across who was a lefty. Maybe we should start our own YouTube channel... LGC. Lefty Golf Channel 😁.
