Lefty Thread

Funny enough, I was on a cruise ship and they had a golf simulator with a PGA pro on board. Guess what... He was a lefty! So I took two lessons while onboard (short game chopping and iron swings). Kind of hard to practice chipping when the boat was a rockin', lol. I forgot his name but he's the only pro I've come across who was a lefty. Maybe we should start our own YouTube channel... LGC. Lefty Golf Channel .

Lefty Instructors could probably charge extra for teaching other lefty's since there are so few.

It seems as though a slice off the tee is the price you have to pay for playing from the right side of the ball. It's a real common ailment for lefties, as far as I can tell.

 

On a different note, I went into the pro shop at the course I was going to play today, and there were a bunch of left handed clubs. I commented on them to my buddy, the member, and he told me the pro is a lefty. Looks like I've found someplace to try to get some lessons.

That could be VG! Having a LH Instructor can be beneficial for you in many ways. If you give him a try let us know how it goes. Lefties have a tendency to stick together. Just don't ever let a Righty find out about our secret handshake 🤭

I did have a good experience with my first ever lesson, because he would set up and just have me mirror his form etc.

You  make a great point.   When my right handed instructor illustrates what he wants me to do, it's like looking in a mirror.   I must think that there are very few of us that have never checked out our swings by doing so in front of a mirror.

News to me about Spieth. I knew the story of how Mickelson and how he got started.  Playing with your favored hand to tough enough let alone switching to the other hand.

I didn't know that about Spieth, either. One of the reasons I've been a big Mickelson fan is because I'm a righty that plays lefty, and he shows that it's at least possible to do it well.

 

And I know, you all want to make me some kind of junior member because I'm primarily right handed.
