TaylorMade Monza Spider Vicino - anyone else use one?

Theres been a lot of hype around the TaylorMade Spider Tour putters and their inserts. They do look good,  sit very nicely behind the ball and they are certainly very popular and successful on tour.

I have the older Vicino Spider which is a little larger in head but the consistently solid feel of the head for even slight mishits has turned me from a nervous putter to a

confident one this year. I've always played a blade anser style as my strong arc 'demanded' a toe heavy putter...so I was told by fitters, magazines, putter reviews

and fellow players. I am not a good putter! so rather than "always do what I've always done" achieving the same results, I made the huge leap to a 'starship' style and

endured the wry looks and occasional sniggers from partners. That snigger turns into a growl as another 8 footer sees the bottom of the cup (not always but

confidence is high for that length now).

Just wanted to share my thoughts and see if anyone else has made the switch despite 'what I should be using'? Also to say to anyone struggling with consistent

length on long putts, or no confidence on short ones, try this club out, or a similar model. I've found its put the fun back into putting. The agsi insert I find feels solid on the

premium balls like Prov1's, Callaway Chrome Soft, Srixon Z stars etc

It's always nice finding something different that works. I do like the looks of the Vicino, but I was a bigger fan of the previous original generation Itsy Bitsy Spider line and especially the original ANSI insert. For me, the Vicino insert always felt dead.

In fact, I just found and bought a mint Itsy Bitsy with the short slant neck that wasn't available in the U.S.. IMO it's way better than the new short slant neck tour Spiders that are the rage right now.

Never seen this particular model of Spider but I like the alignment on it. Confidence on the putting green is an amazing thing!

My 12 year is rolling one. He started with a blade and was not a huge fan so off to the putter room we went. I had one of these kicking around so a little cut down and some added weight for him. He has been using it for two or so years now.

Man the spiders are a sweet putter. Every time I head to the mall I just “have” to walk through golf town to get in and i always stop and roll some putts with it. But at over $300... I'll have to stick to what I have for now!

I've had this putter for 6 years, I would say the same it has made me a more confident putter especially from long distances. I put a 2” extension on it since I am taller and that was the best thing I ever could have done for my putting game. A size 30 length pant doesn't fit me so why should a shorter putter

still love the spider but a blade suits my eye more, gone to a Ping Anser 2 now, fingers crossed I can putt better as averaging 37 putts per round wont get me any decent score anywhere EVER! ;)
