Adding more brands to signature emoji options?

Recommended Posts

Didn't really want to start an entire new thread for this, but couldn't find another place to bring it up: Is there a way we can get some missing brands added to the emoji menu for our signatures?

I noticed Exotics was missing when I updated my sig last night. Getting some of the major shaft brand logos in there could be neat too.

Golf grip logos like Golf Pride and Lamkin would be cool additions as well. I know from a company standpoint that Tour Edge, Cure, and Evnroll are missing.

I have heard of HTML but that is the extent of my familiarity with it!  :D

I did when I was new to the site last year with my old snake eyes irons, but have resorted to being lazy since.

Until Meyer gets a chance to update the coding, here's my attempt at a tutorial for doing this yourself. If you can follow directions, you can create custom logos for your signature.

____________________________________________________

1) Choose a logo

Search Google images for what you're looking for and save it to your computer. Usually you'll get what you need by typing "companyX logo"

2) Open image in MS Paint

Before we begin, it must be the proper size as to not dominate your signature (and the forum)

2a) Crop image to desired view (optional)

3) Choose the "Resize" Tool

4) Click the Radio button to resize by Pixels

5) Click the checkbox to maintain aspect ratio

6) Enter in the height only (width will automatically adjust)

7) Save the image to your computer

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

8) Host the image on a web sharing site

I use imgur.com because it's free and easy. The default upload is hidden from public view.

9) Click "New Post" then "Upload Images"

10) Attach your newly resized icon

11) Under your profile, click "Images"

12) Click the photo you wish to use and a dialogue box will open up

You'll notice that the photo is teeny tiny. That's perfect for a signature. If it's large, you missed a step.

13) Click "Copy" for the Direct Link

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

14) Go to the GolfSpy Forum and edit your signature by clicking {a} Your Profile {b} Settings {c} Signature

15) Click in the Signature box where you want your emoticon to go then click on the "Image" icon

16) Paste the URL you previously copied and click OK

17) Save your changes and VOILA!

I hope that was helpful. You can do some portions of this on mobile devices (saving, resizing, loading to imgur) but the signature itself can only be done from the Desktop site on the forum. Good Luck and let's get creative!

Thanks stud. It confirms that what I was trying to do was correct, but the image never did load correctly and when I tried to submit, I got some error and all my "work"got deleted. I'll try again when I get to a computer and pay more attention to the error.

I had a few minutes to play around and got it to work. The issue was with the imgur link. I did not create a profile, so the direct link was a little different, which I manually changed to match the format in your post.
